Vikings Re-Sign Fred Evans

THURSDAY, 3:31pm: Defensive tackle Fred Evans has re-signed with the Vikings on a one-year contract, according to Pro Football Talk (via Twitter). Evans, who started three games last season for the team, had been an unrestricted free agent.

Evans’ performance in 356 snaps for the Vikings last season was almost exactly average, according to Pro Football Focus, whose metrics had the 30-year-old ranked as one of three defensive tackles who recorded a grade between +1.0 and -1.0 (subscription required). Evans didn’t record a sack, but logged 20 tackles, a forced fumble, and nine quarterback pressures.
