Free agent offensive lineman D.J. Fluker had scheduled a visit with the Giants, reports ESPN.com’s Jordan Raanan (via Twitter). The reporter notes that the Patriots also have “strong interest” in the guard. The Chargers released the former first-round pick earlier this week.
Instead of comitting $8.82MM to the lineman, the Chargers decided to release the four-year veteran. Fluker only missed five games in four seasons with the organization, starting each of his 59 games. Pro Football Focus wasn’t fond of his 2016 performance, ranking him 54th out of 72 qualified guards.
The website had rated Fluker more favorably when he was a tackle, a position he played during the first two seasons of his career. The rumored teams may be enticed by the 25-year-old’s versatility.
Fluker was listed as an honorable mention in our positional free agent rankings. ESPN’s Josina Anderson previously listed the Saints, Lions, Seahawks, Colts, Vikings, Giants, Cardinals, and Falcons as teams to watch when it came to the lineman.
Pats need to get their sh*t together and focus on Hightower

The good news is that the dialogue is still open with Hightower, so I think he must have agreed to give the Pats the last chance like McCourty did.
If he does leave BB will look like an idiot for trading away Jones and Collins and if Hightower doesn’t return then those trades will hurt more than they did before since they traded them knowing they wanted to keep Hightower the most and if he walks we would have let our top 3 line backs go and gotten basically nothing in return for them except for some 2nd round or later draft picks. If we can get him back and manage to keep Butler I will be one happy camper and I hope the Pats realize they really have no need for Cooks. What they need to do after they sign Hightower is trade Lewis to the colts for a 4th rounder and sign Patterson and Karlos Williams to replace Blount and then draft Macafree

Giants are desperate for Oline help especially tackle however because if JPP salary cap is near zero after Brandon Marshall ann’s the signing they didn’t need Ellison a back up TE Reese refuses to sign Olinemen???
