The Packers met with defensive back Micah Hyde‘s agent at the combine last week, but it doesn’t appear that a deal will materialize before free agency opens Thursday. As a result, Hyde is likely to hit the open market, reports Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com.

Hyde has spent his entire four-year career in Green Bay, though its interest in bringing him back for a fifth season doesn’t seem all that high. The team hasn’t even made Hyde an offer, according to Demovsky. If the 26-year-old’s career with the Packers is over, it’ll end with 63 regular-season appearances out of a possible 64, 33 starts, eight interceptions, five forced fumbles and four sacks.
Hyde is coming off a 16-game, 11-start season, in which he tied a career high with three picks and ranked a decent 53rd among Pro Football Focus’ 112 qualified cornerbacks. Hyde also has experience at safety, so his track record of versatility, productivity and durability should enable him to land an appreciable raise over his $1.671MM base salary from 2016. Indeed, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com tweets that Hyde has “strong offers” from two other clubs.

LOL. Yeah Micah can go to Detroit or Chicago and watch his career and playoff chances DIE. Good player, love to have him back but also don’t want to overpay for him either. If he leaves, good luck wherever he goes. Chase money in Detroit or Chicago or make a little less in GB and chase championships.
Micah was the best Packer DB in the playoffs after all of those injuries..Would be a shame to lose him.
Jets are no different. If u want to kill a career you go play for the Jets, LOL! As for Perry he’s rarely healthy and Matthew’s will be healthy, Joe Thomas is really coming around. Also Martinez looks to be solid especially with some more development. Good LB core here. We can lose Perry and fix in the draft.
“Matthews will be healthy” is never a certainty and with Peppers leaving I’d say we’re very thin at pass rush. Perry is a must along with Hyde for me
The line backers are a mess! Matthews and perry are both injury prone. To keep perry they will have to overpay as he is the best FA OLB on the market. Blake got beat like a drum as the season went on and did not see the field much as a result, so he will need to take a huge step in year two to be considered solid. A lack of pass rush hurt our secondary and helped end their season last year so Perry will need to be upgraded not just replaced. Good luck finding a guy that can be better than perry as a rookie at the end of the second round (if they use 1 st round pick on a corner).

I agree with Pacfan. Doubt Hyde even leaves. Keep drooling. Also Clay at 50% is better than 90% of the league. He’s good to go and didn’t have to even have surgery. Overpaid for Perry in my opinion but with this injury riddled roster I guess it’s better to have some insurance. I don’t see them drafting a CB in round 1 either. I see RB all over this draft.
