The Vikings have re-signed restricted free agent Adam Thielen. The wide receiver gets a three-year deal from Minnesota, according to ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter (on Twitter). Thielen can make up to $27MM over those three years, a source tells Mike Garafolo of NFL.com (on Twitter). The deal carries a base value of $17MM and includes $11MM guaranteed. 
Initially, the Vikings placed a second-round tender on Thielen, which was probably about right for a player at his level. The receiver racked up 967 receiving yards last year after totaling 281 in his previous two NFL campaigns. The second-round tender would have paid him $2.81MM and, of course, forced another team to cough up a second-round choice if successful in signing Thielen away. We did not hear word of any team considering an offer sheet, however.
Theilen now returns to the Vikings one day after Cordarrelle Patterson was lured away in free agency. Stefon Diggs, Jairus Wright, Laquon Treadwell, and Isaac Fruechte remain with the team. Even without Patterson, the Vikings have one of the league’s most fearsome groups of wide receivers on paper.
In other Vikings news, the team re-signed cornerback Terence Newman on Wednesday morning.

On paper? I stand by it. Talent wise its top 10 in the league, no?
New England, Pittsburgh, Denver, Miami, Oakland, Green Bay, NY Giants, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, and Arizona. These are the teams I believe have better wide outs than the Vikings. They don’t really have a bonafide number one, and if you think Diggs will become that, I don’t think him and Thielen is enough.
What about Atlanta and Cincinnati?
Fairly certain this group doesnt keep defensive coordinators up at night.

Yes, I can see where they have “one of the league’s most fearsome group of wide receivers.” I’m a Vikings fan and I laughed out loud when I read that. I’m hoping it was sarcasm.
First time post. Love the site, on top of the action, but fearsome is hardly a word I would use. Glad we signed Adam to a 3 year deal. He’s improved every single year, and even Gruden thinks he can be elite catcher. But like others have said…I don’t think fearsome is a word I would use when most defenses play is 8 in the box
Huge Vikings fan but one of the most fearsome in the league no way. I will say I think they’re currently the best receiving duo in the division as I’d take them over any combo of Green Bay’s receivers right now. Obviously superior QB play goes a long way but Jordy regressed, I’m not sold on Adams and Cobb isn’t better than Diggs or Thielen. The Bears receivers are a joke and I’m not terribly impressed by Golden Tate and Marvin Jones.
Agreed. Jordy, Cobb and Adams have the benefit of playing with Rodgers and a somewhat competent O-line. I could catch 20-30 balls from Rodgers for shit sake.
