* = compensatory selection
Not a Steelers fan but why the hell didn’t they pick Sanders at some point ? They have no viable QB and they passed him up multiple times.
Maybe an indicator that they are figuring on AR (?)
Good luck with that
My guess is Tomlin said NOPE
Maybe the Steelers did not want the three-ring circus that goes along with Sanders……….
Doesn’t want the 3 ring circus that comes with sanders
But wants the absolute clown show that comes with Aaron Rodgers going out into the woods, getting highs as a Fkn kite, and letting the colors of the wind and voices of the trees tell him what to do every week as he prepare for NFL games. Dudes literally taking snaps from an oak tree half naked out in the woods right now probably blazed out of his mind and Steelers are like gimme some of that.
PIT doesn’t have a Fkn clue what they’re doing at QB
That was a good one LOL
Every team but the Browns said no to Sanders. Let that sink for a little
Brady went in the 7th…Purdy too..let that sink in.
Brady didnt go in the 7th
Brady went in the 6th
Multiple times
Including the Browns until they finally picked him.
Even Cleveland took another QB ahead of Sanders, the 5’11” Dillon Gabriel.
So the next order of business should be holding a poll so we can vote on who we think scored best in this years draft. Hint: 4 picks in the first 62 is the kind of assertiveness you like to see from a GM.
Moves the Bears can make and get some cap space:
Ryan Bates trade or cut save 3.5 million
Andrew Billings- Cut or trade save 2.5 million
Chris Williams – Cut or trade save about 3 million bucks
Tyler Scott- save about 1 million
Dominique Robinson- about 1 million
Zach Pickens- about a million bucks
Should be enough to sign Nick Chubb or someone available. There are always FA RB’s around or cheap trade options. See what you can get for some of these guys. Should be able to get something. These are all guys that have been made irrelevant by the draft and FA.
There isn’t much out there for FA RBs. Most are old. Chubb showed some serious decline LY. CHI needs a solid between the tackles RB, Swift is more of an east/west RB.
I doubt Billings goes anywhere and same with Pickens, the former as they need depth (and he is a big body in the middle), and the latter as he is a Poles draft pick and they need depth at DT. I mean ultimately its up to the coaches I think come cut day before the season, but I would be surprised if both go (maybe one goes, likely Billings then due to him making a bit more).
It was certainly a breath of fresh air seeing them get multiple O linemen in the draft for the first time in forever. Sounds like one is going to be more a guard/center, and the other being a bit of a project at LT(?), but you can never have enough depth for the O line, especially these days (I still say with a 17 game schedule they need to have a larger roster to handle the attrition of the season).
Though I was surprised at the CB selection and RB pick late (figured if you do get an RB its around 4th, or 5th round) and no Safety pick.
Well I’m pretty sure the Bears were going to take Skattebo in the 4th and then the Giants traded up in front of them because they knew the Bears liked him. Then the Bears traded down to take the linebacker I’m assuming Allen wanted because the Bears LB’s aren’t all that fast and that guy was the fastest one. Everybody’s ranking the Bears for that pick but I thing drafting a LB that can cover TE’s and RB’s was a good idea. Don’t know if this guy is that guy but I think that’s what happened. The Bears now have Jarrett, Dexter and Turner for DT’s. They don’t need 3 more guys, just 1. So Williams, Billings, Pickens, 2 have to go. Pickens has shown nothing since he got here. He stinks. Billings is the one who might bring back a pick. I also don’t think the Bears expected Henderson and Judkins to be gone by 39 either. So when that happened they took Burden( Nice) and traded 41 back. Poles didn’t panic and let the draft come to him. O line is pretty deep now. Plus the DE they got from Indy can play inside also and Booker can rush also so again too many DT’s. Allen should still have plenty to work with. The draft didn’t go exactly as planned but I felt glad didn’t panic and trade up and lose assets, Plus getting back the pick they traded for Thuney was overlooked by all the so called experts. It was smooth. I’m happy. And I know Lemon is because the Bears drafted a RB who never fumbles . He loves that. LOL
Best and worst polls!
I appreciate this article. So I’m commenting for the algorithm
I think someone needs to tell the Bengals and the Bucs the concept of “trading.” There is actual value in doing so.
