Robert Blanton Visiting Cowboys

The Cowboys have observed defections across their secondary this month after seeing Barry Church, Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne sign elsewhere. They are thinner at both cornerback and safety but brought in a player with some experience for a visit today in Robert Blanton, Todd Archer of tweets.

Blanton has mostly served as a second-stringer during his five years in the NFL, with his work for the 2014 Vikings being an exception. Blanton started 13 games for the Vikes that year and made 105 tackles. Since, he’s been deployed as a first-unit player in just three games, two with the Bills last season.

But Blanton became part of a revolving Buffalo back-line crew after going on IR in late November. His one-year deal with the Bills produced 28 tackles. Dallas currently has just Jeff Heath and 2016 sixth-rounder Kavon Frazier as safeties alongside Byron Jones.

Dallas will be late to the off-season ason party, but will take care of a lot of their holes. As an Eagles fan, I’m loving Dallas’ off-season but I know they will right the ship during the draft. Can see trades during the draft. Jones loves his draft trades. Lots of free agents out there they can take a chance on.

I don’t know why they haven’t restructured Smith’s and Crawford’s deals yet. Then they could actually make an offseason move. Currently up against it for the cap. Best cap move they can make is to make Romo a post-June 1 cut.

Because restructuring deals just adds to future cap issues. They wouldn’t be in this situation if they didn’t do it to begin with. Releasing Romo would certainly add room and trading Morris would help a little too.

I am perplexed!! ? What is it that Dallas is thinking? They have to have near future moves set in place. Right? I pray we land the UConn Husky DB in the Draft! We will have to move up from 28 though? I still hope Berry in KC is in play? Revis would make $’s & cents… Too! Time 2 Win! Big D
