Josh McDaniels will interview with the Packers on Friday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com (on Twitter). McDaniels’ availability to interview (and ability to ultimately accept a job) is complicated by the Patriots being in the playoffs, but the Pats’ first-round bye could give McDaniels time to do two interviews before New England’s postseason gets underway. 
Last year, McDaniels agreed to become the next head coach of the Colts but ultimately left them at the altar. Despite his offensive knowhow, it remains to be seen whether the Packers or any other team in this cycle will be able to trust McDaniels. For what it’s worth, McDaniels does not believe he is “burned” when it comes to future opportunities.
Of course, there are factors working in McDaniels’ favor, starting with his resume as the chief strategist of one of the league’s most potent offenses. He also fits the profile of a young and energetic coach, which is what led to the hirings of Sean McVay and Matt Nagy in recent years. Teams who want to go for the young and bubbly type this year may consider the likes of Oklahoma’s Lincoln Riley, but he lacks pro experience and claims that he is staying put at OU.
McDaniels also has experience in managing an elite quarterback, which should be a focus of the Packers after Mike McCarthy‘s relationship with Aaron Rodgers went south.
Ill take the job . Maybe , for sure 100%. Let me think about it.
What about the bengals?
Bengals will end up with their 3rd or 4th choice….or Hue Jackson. It’s not as appealing of a job that the ones in GB or CLE or maybe even NYJ and MIA.
Hell, there’s some D4 college position coach jobs that are more appealing.
That brings up an interesting question. Which job is better – Packers HC or Browns HC? I may actually prefer the Browns job at this point. Low expectations. Solid young core. Promising young QB (though obviously not Rodgers).
Bengals are a jerk organization. Ownership terrible. Should have unloaded Marv years ago.
Young and bubbly type? I would never want a bubbly coach.

I don’t think a Josh McDaniels is going anywhere. If he does it would be to Cleveland in my opinion only because it’s home and he has a really young talented roster with a young QB stud in Baker Mayfield. JM is making $3M as an OC for the Pats and he’s the future HC. They just need to draft a young QB for JM to develop in Brady’s last 2 or 3 years. The next Baker Mayfield or Patrick Mahomes. Easier said than done but they are smart.

The thing that worries me about GB, or any other team hiring him, it could be a short marriage. I just think when Belichick retires, Josh is packing his bags and leaving to go back there. Now, you may be able to get a draft choice if that’s what he wants to do.
