Browns rookie Quinshon Judkins was arrested this past weekend has has since been charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. Further details have emerged regarding the running back’s case.
Judkins’ arrest report documents the specifics of the alleged incident (h/t Tom Pelissero of NFL Network). On July 7, the accuser – a woman who was in a relationship between May and December 2024 and again from June 2025 onwards with Judkins – was struck with a closed fist in the chin/lip area and later hit in the left arm and thigh, per the report. The alleged victim initially did not contact police out of concern for the damage it would do to Judkins’ NFL career.
After discussing the matter with family and friends, though, the accuser later filed the report which led to Judkins’ arrest. The second-rounder was booked into Broward County Main Jail in Florida on Saturday and remained in custody overnight. An updated story on the situation from Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal notes Judkins was released Sunday on a $2,500 bond.
The arrest report notes the accuser still had “visible bruising on her chin area” as of July 12. She also provided police with a photograph taken on July 8 detailing her injuries from the previous day. That evidence will be included in the legal process as it plays out; only after its conclusion will the NFL launch an investigation of its own and determine if supplemental discipline under the personal conduct policy is necessary.
One of the top prospects in a deep 2025 RB class, Judkins was selected 36th overall. The Ole Miss and Ohio State product is one of two rookies Cleveland has in the backfield, a group which no longer includes Pro Bowler Nick Chubb. Judkins, 21, will face high expectations when he sees the field at the NFL level. The time at which that will take place is uncertain as training camp approaches, though.
Anger management should be part of NFL team practices. Never hit a woman let alone anyone else
I’m pretty sure it already is and has been. You’re surprised it didn’t work? How about END RACISM in the end zones. Shouldn’t that have fixed it?
I agree that it’s bad. What’s even worse is how the NFL seems to handles these situations. Fact is idiots like this show impulse control issues and bad decision making. But hey, dude can run fast so here’s 20 million.
Only cowards and overgrown boys hit women.
Maybe it was how I’m raised. I’d honestly be ashamed and embarrassed I even had to get to a point to hit a woman. How do guys do it all the time?
They weren’t raised like you, ATL… sadly.
😢
I’m with ATL. The shame and embarrassment would make it so hard to come to the locker room. Like a child molestor in prison. Dudes have sisters and daughters and they gotta roll with a dude that punches women in the chin. Factor in it’s a rookie. Can’t imagine that doesn’t hurt the locker room that much more.
Literally handed the starting job to Ford and Sampson
If this turns out to be true (have to have due process), the NFL needs to come down hard and heavy to make an example. Then, continue to do so with all the players to set a hard line: DV is not acceptable in society and therefore not in the NFL.
Can’t really do that when Tyreek Hill is still in the league.
I don’t think someone that’s punching women in the face care much about consequences. Just going out on a limb there.
DV continues to be a pattern in the NFL and I believe that the NFL needs to come down hard on all of these “cowards” who hit woman. If these players are found guilty after due process the NFL must suspend them for a year and after a second offense/conviction you are banned for life. In my opinion the NFL has done a poor job with DV cases involving players, coaches etc. Set a precedent Goddell instead of sitting in your ivory tower pushing your inclusion policies while your players etc. continue to abuse women.
It doesn’t look good, but I also know that men, especially NFL players are very strong and when women get violent, it’s not impossible that her chin hit his fist as he was trying to defuse the situation. Like I said, it doesn’t look good, but such a scenario is possible. It’s also possible that this is Ray Rice 2.0… and a similar result should be expected.
Tyreek Hill and Frank Clark both did worse than Ray Rice, and neither was banned or even suspended for a year.
Saw this reported earlier elsewhere:
A couple details of what led to #Browns and former #OhioState RB Quinshon Judkins’ arrest:
– The alleged incident took place on July 7th, however, the victim didn’t report the incident to Fort Lauderdale Police until July 12th, as @CBSNews reported.
– Both Judkins and the female victim traveled to Florida as friends. After the alleged incident took place on July 7th, the victim stayed with Judkins for an additional five nights before notifying law enforcement on Saturday.
Sounds similar to the Zeke incident.
What is it with Ohio State RBs and being in this exact same situation?
I’ve never heard of Archie Griffin, Pete Johnson, or Eddie George being accused of hitting a woman.
The latter information might save his career. His lawyers could argue now that the accuser obviously did feel safe in his presence. With that said: I do not condone violence in any way at all, may this scumbag rot in hell. But the NFL could try and uphold the pick with this argument.

30 yrs. in law enforcement including service on the domestic violence task force it is not uncommon for victims to report the violence days later. Many times they report it after they feel they are safe from the abuser either by distance or staying somewhere safe. Also they are encouraged by family to report the DV incident because there has been a pattern of violence that family members have seen or heard about.
Orrrrrrr……
Thanks for the valuable insight. Also thank you for your service.
