Jarvis Landry is still unsigned, and the veteran receiver may remain a free agent through the end of the month. According to USA Today’s Tyler Dragon, Landry could wait until “dust from the NFL Draft settles” before making a decision on his future.

Landry has been connected to a number of teams since he was released by the Browns last month. Dragon confirms that there are “multiple” teams still interested in adding the wide receiver, and Dragon also reiterates a previous report that Landry could even land back in Cleveland. Besides a Browns reunion, the Chiefs, Saints, and Falcons have been mentioned as suitors for the 29-year-old.
Once Landry joins a new squad, it will be interesting to see how much he’s adjusted his worth since hitting free agency. A report from last month indicated that the veteran was seeking a contract that would pay him at least $20MM per year. His previous contract with Cleveland featured an AAV of just over $15MM, but the expectation is that his next deal will not hit even that yearly average, let alone a $20MM/year rate.
Landry, 30 in November, agreed to a five-year, $75.5MM extension with the Browns after they traded for him in 2018. He delivered two Pro Bowl seasons in Cleveland and served as Baker Mayfield‘s most consistent target. However, the veteran averaged just 47.5 receiving yards per game last season and missed five weeks of action.
Why don’t the Lions jump on Landry? He would be our #1, and unless I’m mistaken, he is better used on short routes? Perfect for Jared Goff, no offense to him.
Amon-Ra should be your number 1 going forward. Landry is past his prime and can be a good veteran even presence/teacher at this point.

No way Landry (or any other receiver except for prime Julio Jones or Jerry Rice) is worth that kind of dosh. A path straight down to mediocrity.

Why would the chiefs trade hill and sign Landry
he’s cheaper then Hill would have been . Hill wanted a new contract and that wasn’t happening at the number he wanted for they traded him now rather then him hit FA and get nothing so signing Landry now for a yr or two would make sense and not cost as much as hill would

I think that it would be more accurate to say that the Chiefs would be taking Landry after Hill, instead of necessarily over him. He’s not there to replace Hill or upgrade on him, he’s there to do a job that’s now vacant. Hill is gone, and now K.C. needs a receiver. In other words, Landry wouldn’t be signed to BE Hill, just to be a wide receiver.
Landry isnt going to the Chiefs for anything close to $20 or even 15 million. Maybe $8 to $10 for a couple of years and he isn’t taking that. Hill priced himself out of the market. You can start that ridiculous rise in receiver value when. Keim gave Hopkins $27.5 when the closest was making $20. Everyone blames the Raiders and Adams but it was “ I’ll have one for the road Keim” who started all of it.

I just love these articles spouting the ‘latest’ on something and when you’re all done reading it there isn’t one shred of info that hasn’t been said before. Hey Ben Levine….if you’re going frame your article as being the ‘latest’ on somerhing it should contain at least one new piece of information. All you did hear was rehash information that’s been gone over ad nauseum. for the love all that’s good and holy at least tell us he picked up a new pack of socks at Walmart. At least that would be some kind of update.

This is actually new news. It was an article written in the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The new part is Landry waiting until after the draft. Smart move by Landry and the teams. Teams can save money if a receiver drops to them and Landry may have more offers if a team doesn’t get what they want. I believe the Browns and the Chiefs are both doing it this way
