Redskins Sign Adam Hayward

7:13pm: Hayward gets $3MM with $300K guaranteed, tweets Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun.

4:29pm: Linebacker Adam Hayward has agreed to a three-year deal with the Redskins, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.com (via Twitter). The 29-year-old Hayward spent his entire career with the Buccaneers before testing the market this offseason. He has only started 13 games in Tampa Bay since his rookie year in 2007.

Malcolm Jenkins Signs With Eagles

Safety Malcolm Jenkins will join the Eagles defense in 2014, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN (via Twitter). The former first-round pick of the Saints has agreed on a three-year deal with the Eagles, worth $16.25MM. Jeff McClane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the contract includes $8.5MM in guaranteed money (via Twitter).

Jenkins was one of the second-tier safeties available, and while the Eagles have been linked to both T.J. Ward and Jairus Byrd at points this offseason, it is unclear if that will take those players out of the running.

Lions, Kevin Ogletree Agree To One-Year Deal

7:14pm: Ogletree gets a one-year deal worth $795K with $100K guaranteed and a $65K bonus (included), tweets Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun.

4:10pm: The Lions and receiver Kevin Ogletree have come to terms on a one-year deal, as reported by Pro Football Talk (via Twitter). Terms of the contract have yet to be disclosed. Ogletree began his career with the Cowboys before signing with the Buccaneers last offseason. He was released after four games, and was picked up by the Lions.

In 12 games with the Lions, the 26-year-old wideout managed 13 catches and one touchdown. The Lions will still be looking for additional help at receiver, either in free agency or the draft.

Colts To Re-Sign Vontae Davis

The Colts announced that they have re-signed Vontae Davis. Adam Schefter of ESPN (on Twitter) has the terms: it’s a four-year, $39MM deal, including $20MM guaranteed, according to a source.

The Colts opted not to use the franchise tag on their standout corner earlier this offseason. Because of that, it was speculated that Davis would be leaving Indy with other clubs, including the Jets, holding significant interest.

Ravens To Sign Eugene Monroe

4:05pm: It’s a five-year, $37.5MM deal, tweets Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The deal gives Monroe $19MM guaranteed, tweets Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com.

3:45pm: The Ravens have completed their deal with Eugene Monroe, sources tell Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun (on Twitter). The two sides are just putting the finishing touches on the contract.

We heard just yesterday that the Ravens and Monroe were “deep in productive talks.” The Dolphins, once expected to be a strong suitor for Monroe, have seemingly opted to sign Branden Albert instead, and the Cardinals inked Jared Veldheer, freeing up Monroe to resume negotiations with the Ravens.

In earlier talks with the Ravens, at a time when a reunion seemed unlikely, Monroe was said to be seeking $10MM per season, while Baltimore was hoping to pay closer to $8-9MM annually. With Albert reportedly in line for a $10MM per year salary, it seems likely that the final figures on Monroe’s deal will end up closer to that amount than what the Ravens wanted to pay.

Bears Re-Sign D.J. Williams

7:15pm: Williams got a $1.5MM with $100K of it guaranteed, tweets Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun. He also gets a roster bonus of ~$23K per game.

4:01pm: The Bears and linebacker D.J. Williams have reached agreement on a one-year deal, tweets Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports. The 11th-year veteran will immediately become the frontrunner to start at middle linebacker next season but he’ll face competition from Jon Bostic for the No. 1 slot.

Williams joined the Bears during free agency in 2013 on a one-year deal with a $900K base. Unfortunately, injuries got in his way – first in the preseason by a calf injury and then a season-ending pectoral injury that he suffered in the Bears’ sixth game last fall. In six starts last season, Williams recorded 39 tackles, including 3.5 sacks and 4.5 tackles for a loss. At the end of the season, the 31-year-old linebacker said his intent was to remain in Chicago in 2014, citing familiarity with defensive coordinator Mel Tucker.

Bears general manager Phil Emery recently offered up positive words about what he saw from the University of Miami product. “I saw a good football player. Saw a guy who has legitimately very good burst. Saw a player who has good instincts, gets around the ball and plays with a relentless style. We were not displeased with his effort. We were very pleased with where he was going and how he was progressing,” said the GM.

Bucs To Sign Clinton McDonald

The Buccaneers have agreed to sign Clinton McDonald, sources tell Adam Schefter of ESPN (on Twitter). The former Seahawks defensive tackle gets $12MM over four years.

McDonald may not be a household name but he could prove to be a solid pickup for the Bucs and a significant loss for Seattle. The 27-year-old enjoyed breakout season with 5.5 sacks, 35 tackles, and one interception. At just $592K in 2013, he was a solid value for the Seahawks alongside fellow DT Brandon Mebane.
