Jets Waive WR Jalin Marshall

Shortly after the draft concluded, the Jets waived wide receiver Jalin Marshall and linebacker Micah Awe.

Marshall had not played since the 2016 season. He incurred a four-game suspension last season, and the Jets did not activate him to the 53-man roster. Instead, Gang Green waived the Ohio State alum before re-signing him to their practice squad.

Although the Jets did not draft a receiver this weekend, they loaded up on the position this offseason. The team signed Terrelle Pryor, Charles Johnson and Andre Roberts to add to a cast that already includes 2017 starters Jermaine Kearse and Robby Anderson and 2017 mid-round picks ArDarius Stewart and Chad Hansen.

Still just 22, Marshall has 14 receptions for 162 yards to his credit. All of those came during his rookie season, one that also saw him factor into New York’s return game.
