I still can’t believe the Raiders gave Witten $4 million to be a blocker in 3 TE sets.

He’ll run his Y option route for 6-8 yard receptions, like he’s been doing forever. He’ll be useful as an outlet.

With Mariota as his QB, Witten will get the ball a lot. He got Delanie Walker to the Pro Bowl every year until injuries took over. Problem for the Raiders is that Witten won’t be an outlet for Mariota … he will be the primary receiver. And when your primary receiver is logging on to Social Security to start calculating benefits, that’s generally a problem.
