The 49ers have signed Kevin White, per a club announcement. This marks yet another stop for the former No. 7 overall pick, who has yet to realize his potential as a pro. 
White, a West Virginia product, came out of West Virginia with tons of hype. The Bears jumped at the chance to grab him in 2015, but injuries have limited him ever since. Over the last five years, he’s played in just 14 games. And, in the last ~365 days, he’s been pretty much off the radar. The Cardinals were his last employer, and they cut him in August of 2019.
All in all, White has 25 career catches for 285 yards and zero touchdowns. Still, he’s coming into his age-28 season, so there’s reason to believe that he can get back on the right track.
SF already added Tavon Austin and J.J. Nelson, but the team is dealing with a host of injuries. Deebo Samuel remains out with his foot fracture, while Richie James is battling a broken hand. First-round pick Brandon Aiyuk is dealing with a hamstring injury, further clouding the 49ers’ potential first-string wideout picture. Jalen Hurd also suffered an ACL tear recently, with that setback following Travis Benjamin‘s opt-out decision. Meanwhile, they’ve released Jaron Brown with an injury designation.
Probably a bad idea for someone who is injury prone to join one of the most oft injured teams this offseason.
Idk why…but I like this guy. If he could find a program to keep him healthy, he will be good. SF will be good for him if they can find ways to keep in incorporated.
This most likely is Whites last chance to make it to the NFL he is injury prone I like White it is a shame it did not worked out for White maybe signing with the 49ers will bring out the best for White good luck White
Another absurd signing by a team destined to regress badly. I’d guess the over/under for combined snaps by Kevin White and Jordan Reed is about 12.
how is it absurd? how will they regress badly? for one the team been hit hard with injuries they need WRs, two they are 90% the same team from last season. i doubt a shannon lead team will regress.
Might want to straighten those eyes of yours bud. 49ers aren’t going anywhere. Their DEF will still be among the game’s best, you know the group that forced Mahomes to his worst game as a starter!?
And their offense will have enough weapons still with Mostert, Kittle, Juice, possibly Reed and McKinnon, and then Bourne, Taylor, Deebo, and Aiyuk. They have Nelson, Austin, Poindexter, Cracraft, and now White solely as Week 1 and Week 2 insurance policies for Deebo if he isnt able to go, but all signs are pointing to Deebo being a full go for Week 1.
I’m not sure why you’re so sour on the 49ers, but you should move on to picking another team to falter, because this one ain’t it.
The 49ers defense was a mediocre 10th in scoring efficiency during the regular season and then surrendered 21 points to Mahomes in just 6 minutes during that SB. They’ll be even worse without Buckner. You conveniently ignored Jimmy G’s SB performance and Kittle being invisible during all 3 playoff games. Trent Williams will never provide the leadership Joe Staley did so don’t expect much from that offense either.
