The Titans broke league protocols by gathering for a workout last week (Twitter link via Paul Kuharsky). Kuharsky’s story includes photo evidence, which could prove to be problematic for the team.

The Titans were barred from gathering in person following their initial coronavirus outbreak. By working out at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, those involved could place league discipline. Hypothetically, this could lead to a forced forfeiture of a game, per the league’s updated guidelines for safety. For the time being, that scenario has not been discussed by league officials, Judy Battista of NFL.com (on Twitter) hears.
The Titans are currently slated to face the Bills in a Week 5 matchup at Nissan Stadium. That could change in the coming hours following word of more positive tests in Tennessee.
Make them forfeit their season. Clowns.

I’m a Titans fan and this is pathetic. I was impressed with leadership over the last couple of seasons.
This is just inconsiderate and foolish. I’d be fine with the forfeit of a game and loss of draft capital.

If this is true, and they can’t play this weekend, it should be a forfeit. That would certainly get the attention of everyone in the NFL

I don’t know that players are that aware of ever changing protocols. If the team permitted it they may assume it’s within the rules and follow team instructions given they pay their salaries. I don’t think it’s so cut and dry

Like how reckless can you be? You’re told not to go and practice, yet you do. I know they are players and they need to practice, but maybe take a breath and just hold on when COVID is ravaging your team.
Players get banned from the league for smoking weed, but whole teams can get off with a slap on the wrist for refusing to follow pandemic protocols? If they have to forfeit games, they brought it on themselves.

Forfeit a game as it would affect the standings and other teams. Stick it to them with the loss of a pick and a fine.

If the Titans are forced to forfeit, they should forfeit the Steelers game, as well.
Why should Buffalo get a free win while the Steelers have to play on their bye week?

I agree, using forfeitures presents a competitive balance issue in the league. The Steelers and Bills very will could look back at this as a playoff seeding issue.
The league has said from the get go that competitive balance is out the window this season. The goal is complete the season at all costs.

Are we sure it was a practice and they weren’t protesting? Going by the rules of “the new normal”, if they were protesting, they are free to do whatever the hell they want.

Everyone is wearing masks, helmets and face coverings at the riots and/or protests… unlike protests, these players are being tested daily and know their individual results. Which you cannot say about your dear protests. You don’t know who has the weak virus and who has been tested. You hope these masks are 100% effective. But we all know, even scientists that you claim to believe in all the time, that the masks are not 100% effective. Not even 60% effective in most cases.
Is it better than 0% effective? Yes? Then shut up and wear the damn mask. You can’t breathe? Wuss. Some of you have never let a woman sit on your face and it shows.

Man, I hate defending the NFL boffins but the fact they’ve got this far into a season is already impressive. You would have to be totally naive to think positive tests weren’t going to be a problem. The numbers prove that they’ve done a much better job at containment than MLB did while having a larger workforce and a sport which involves more contact. Adding bye weeks and extending the season probably only leads to more positives. It’s more likely this season will be abbreviated as the 1982 season was.
