Quinshon Judkins will be available to the Browns as planned in 2025. The rookie running back will not face charges following investigations into allegations of domestic violence, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports.
An arrest took place in Florida one month ago on charges of battery and domestic violence. The counts in question were a first-degree misdemeanor and led to investigations on the part of the Browns themselves and the NFL. Prosecutors will not move forward with the case, however, allowing Judkins to join the team soon. The league’s probe into the matter will continue, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo notes.
Schultz notes Judkins should be back in the fold shortly. The 21-year-old is the last unsigned member of this year’s draft class, with attention being focused on his criminal proceedings. As of late July, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam was “cautiously optimistic” as resolution would take place allowing for Judkins to suit up. Given today’s update, that should indeed be the case once his rookie deal gets signed.
Judkins did not report to training camp with his legal situation still unclear at the time. The Ohio State product was alleged by his girlfriend to have struck her with a closed fist in the chin/lip area on July 7; a police report was filed after the accuser initially hesitated to bring forward the allegations, leading to the July 12 arrest. Judkins was later accused by the same woman of other domestic violence incidents, but none of them produced legal ramifications.
With new precedents being set regarding guaranteed compensation for second-round rookies, Judkins should manage to sign his contract in short order. This year’s 36th overall pick will spend the remainder of training camp and the preseason in preparation for the first season since 2017 in which the Browns do not have Nick Chubb in their backfield. A notable workload could await Judkins as a result.
Cleveland has Jerome Ford and fellow returnee Pierre Strong in place at the running back spot. The team also selected Dylan Sampson in the fourth round of the draft. Judkins – who helped the Buckeyes to a national championship in 2024 after a strong two-year run at Ole Miss – should be able to carve out a role amongst that group once he is back with the team. He should be available for the full campaign with his legal situation in the rearview.
Hilarious

Getting off easy as all nfl players do. I’d have already been in jail. A joke
The NFL loves players who get into trouble. Makes them money….I know I will NOT be rooting for Judkins in any form…can’t tell me that girl got bruises without SOMETHING hitting her…..
Wonder how much of his signing bonus she got?
He hasn’t signed, so?
The only thing stopping him was his arrest so………………..
So you think it was a deal arranged for future earnings? Maybe.
So the police didn’t charge him, and no crime committed. But you’re convinced he’s somehow guilty? Then you think the NFL loves players who get in trouble, and that somehow makes them money? Probably the most unintelligent comments ever seen here.
I guess reading isn’t a skill you possess. Where did either of us say he was guilty? We jut said he paid her to go away so he can sign his contract because it was cheaper for him. If she took it, All she wanted was the money anyway and he was stupid enough to put himself in a situation where he had to make a choice. So he’s obviously not a huge thinker.
That’s a good conspiracy theory. Maybe she just lied? And yeah, you have it in your mind he’s 100% guilty and beat her. If he’s not charged then he isnt guilty. Knee jerk reactions based on media reports are a problem.
The NFL does love players who get in trouble lol. It’s 3/4 of the league.
So how did she get a bruised chin 🤔 circus is what this is….as a Browns fan….I loved this pick but honestly I wish we’d move on ……
If he was white, he’d be kicked out for the league for life
lol what?
Yes like Big Ben was. 🙄
Twice, not wearing a helmet, and still a HOFer 😛
He still cried
Yes, us whites have it sooo hard.
I genuinely don’t know how to interpret your comment. Whites don’t really have it all that hard, but OP was saying if he was white he would get a lifetime ban. Which isn’t really true, so help me out. Sorry for not understanding.
Lol I didn’t really throw much tone behind that. I meant it quite sarcastically
Got it. No, whites don’t have it hard. But also he would not have been banned for life if he were white. Agreed?
I really don’t think he would have, no.
Excellent. Who says people can’t agree online!
We all have it hard, just some have it far harder.
lol the generalization white people don’t also have it hard is wild tbh.
Just shows that the legal system needs to change.
People get time for this if they don’t have money. So either treaty this the same across the board or start putting folks in regardless of the money they have. I don’t care if it’s 30 days in the offseason. But this is just one of many things showing it needs to change.
What if she made it up? He doesn’t even have a contract yet so it’s not like he’s NFL rich yet. Just NIL I would think.
Legal system of course needs changes, but it involves mostly having more people and more money invested into enforcement, prosecution, and judge standards. People have shown time and again that they won’t spend for these things. So we get what we get. Cheaper to read about someone else’s outrage than to make sure we’re staffed with enough people to handle the workload, invest in good training and standardization of practice, protections for personnel, and offer enough money to attract the right people for a stressful, second-guessed, and difficult job.
Too much money, and too many people coming up with reasons to oppose it. As for Judkins…tough to say without seeing facts of the case. No opinion on it without that.
Can’t imagine why they never learn their lesson 🤔
When someone accused of domestic violence doesn’t have to face any consequences for their actions, the lesson they learn is that they can be a repeat offender until they actually commit murder.
And even then…there’s a chance.
It actually happens in real life too. Many times serial abusers aren’t really held to any standard and sometimes they end up walking right through a restraining order and killing the other person. False allegations cause a lot of this though, which is why they are so despicable.
The other shoe to drop is when the NFL has his hearing.
If it’s before Rashee Rice’s (9/30), it’ll just through gasoline on the “Chiefs Favoritism” bonfire
throw*
I read all the comments. What if he was dropping her and she fabricated the whole thing. Not saying she did but sounds like Police chose not to charge makes this very interesting.
A grand jury chose not to charge…voting for a no bill. Doesn’t mean he’s innocent, just means they didn’t feel they would get a prosecution .. remember DeShaun Watson…2 grand juries voted no bill…didn’t mean he was innocent. Watson settled with 25 massage therapists @ $10k each..and there were 30 who accused him…Judkins needs to grow up and keep his hands to himself and find women who do the same…very messy relationship here….
A grand jury indictment is the easiest thing to ever get. The standard is very very low. If they feel like they won’t get a prosecution, then yeah, he’s probably innocent. The spin here is too much. He won’t be charged. He is innocent of a crime. The Watson case is complete apples and oranges different.
Did you see why they chose to drop them? Late reporting, common in DV cases and a lack of evidence(likely due to the evidence being that she decided not to move forward) which is as good as the person assaulted dropping the charges.
When the bulk of your evidence relies on testimony and that testimony vanishes, they don’t have much to go on.
Too many people conflate no punishment with innocence.
Anyone who thought he would needs some smelling salts.
