FEBRUARY 26: According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Raiders’ price for a Crosby deal does indeed include two first-round picks but also a player. That would match the Parsons blockbuster from last season. Raiders GM John Spytek said earlier this week he does not expect a trade to take place, but it remains to be seen if a suitor will submit an offer in line with his asking price.
FEBRUARY 22: It’s no secret that Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Crosby is a top trade target for many teams across the NFL, but several factors have the potential to affect if Crosby leaves, where he may end up, and just how much the Raiders might receive if they choose to trade him. According to Vincent Bonsignore of the California Post, the sheer amount of interest in Crosby indicates a return of two first-round picks is very much on the table.
We’ve discussed something along these lines in the past. The 28-year-old two-time second-team All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler has established himself amongst the best edge rushers in the NFL. His seven-year career with the Raiders — six years in Las Vegas after a rookie campaign in Oakland — has amassed 69.5 sacks, 133 tackles for loss, and 164 quarterback hits. Though his awards haven’t stacked up quite as high as some of his colleagues’, his production as an acquirable asset is fully on par with past edge rushers who were traded like Khalil Mack and Micah Parsons.
To be fair, both Mack and Parsons were two years younger when they were traded — Mack in 2018, Parsons last year. When Mack was traded from Oakland to Bears, Chicago sent the Raiders two first-round picks in return. Last year, Green Bay’s price for Parsons included two first-rounders in addition to veteran defensive tackle (and former first-round pick) Kenny Clark. Elite pass rushers are a commodity in the NFL. Though Crosby is two years older than both former examples, he’s still an elite pass rusher in the NFL, and if he isn’t worth two first-round picks on his own merit, team competition to acquire him is expected to drive his price up to that.
A factor outside of his performance metrics that could influence what we hear coming out of the combine on Crosby is the unknown determination of whether or not he wants to be traded. The Raiders would almost certainly love to hold onto him. The promotion of Crosby’s position coach to defensive coordinator could easily have been done with hopes that Crosby might be more willing to stick around if his main coach were not only retained on the new staff but promoted on it. Alternatively, Las Vegas may see enough value in what a trade offer could bring to their ability to accelerate the rebuild process.
There’s belief that Crosby may even want to stick around himself. Per an earlier report from Bonsignore’s colleague Noah Nussbaum, Crosby bleeds silver and black and may even be excited for the next steps of the Raiders’ rebuild. Alternatively, Crosby has already committed some of his best years to failed rebuild attempts as the franchise has cycled through head coaches and general managers over the years. He may decide that he’s waited long enough, that his patience has run out, and that it’s time for him to maximize his potential for success, both personal and team.
Another determining factor could be which teams opt to pursue Crosby. As we approach this week’s NFL Scouting Combine, coaching and personnel leaders in the NFL are set to convene in Indianapolis to observe and interview top collegiate athletes gathered from across the country.
The casual environment will allow for general managers to have off-the-record conversations through which they can gauge interest in tradeable players and begin negotiations on what price tags might look like. Teams with a standard or limited draft pick arsenal will almost certainly need to pair up the first-round picks from two separate years. A team that has accumulated a larger arsenal of picks, though, may be able to avoid two firsts by grouping several Day 2 picks with a first-rounder.
There are so many directions in which this conversation could go. It’s all speculation at the moment, but as team representatives from around the NFL gather in Lucas Oil Stadium this week, we could find a bit of clarity as ideas start to circulate around the combine.

Also important to note that both Mack and Parsons were both traded right before the season started. That actually limits the amount of teams that can make a deal. Crosby might be slightly older, but he will have more demand simply due to the timing of a potential trade. I think he ends up staying though.
I didn’t realize the Bears traded Mack to Oakland and the Packers traded Parsons to Dallas.
Unbelievable deals… literally. Especially to just turn around and trade for them back.
Lol
Never about being right, just first.
Oakland got screwed in that deal. They traded two firsts to Chicago for Mack just for him to end up playing for the Bears anyway.
Lol fr how do you even write that? Is this AI or something? I read it and was dumbfounded.
You’re talking about one of the most controversial trades in NFL history due to the way Mack basically failed miserably there, and you don’t know which team traded him to who?
lol what? He was AP1 his first year with the Bears. Made three Pro Bowls in four years when they meant more than they do now.
That deal is nowhere near one of the most controversial trades in NFL history.
So you obviously don’t remember how things actually were.
He did not get double digit sacks after his first year. He was hurt often. The team did nothing with him, even defensively. He was a 3-4 OLB playing in a 4-3 system, and nobody seemed to take that change into account with predictable results.
Everybody and their mother were saying after two years max that Chicago had whiffed majorly trading for him.
Chicago traded him to San Diego because they didn’t want to pay him anymore, and most people basically assumed his career was over at that point or that he’d never be anything close to that guy again.
You’re reaching. It was underwhelming, but he hardly failed miserably. 36 sacks, 14 FF, DPOY runner up, AP 1st team, and AP 2nd team in 4 seasons is a great run, even if expectations were higher in the sack total department.
I’m not reaching. That’s how people talked about it.
Would be a hard sell to get two firsts.
And just to clarify, maxx is incredible. He is just older than parsons who only had Clark added to make payroll work.
This is a media created situation and has been from the start. Now they’re actually throwing doubt into the story they started in the first place. Just garbage reporting per usual.
If your teams 1st round picks are are mid 20s and you think Crosby puts you over the top..why not pull the trigger?
Dj Moore and the 2026 1st
More than that I don’t think Crosby will get 2 firsts but I’m thinking 1 1st and 1 2nd like the Davante Adams or Tyreek Hill trades
DJ Moore has negative trade value given his contract
The Bears #1 is way too low, and the Raiders have no need for any 1-2 year expensive players.
I hope the Bears stay away from the whole expensive price tag for talent. Keep their picks and pick future stars like they should. I mean Maxx was a 4th round pick. Sort of tells it all when you think of it. Don’t jump the shark and just do the right thing and draft your own. Moore plus a 1st is still too much. Stay away.
Sure, it’s good to make a lot of draft picks, but just because the occasional superstar gets drafted in the fourth round doesn’t make it a likely thing to happen.
Maxx Crosby shows up to the game and plays to the best of his ability, even in quarters 1-3.
Bears fans should focus on getting their offense to play serious football the entire game. I highly doubt they can onside kick and Hail Mary their way to the playoffs next season.
No kidding. They played six backup QBs, had unreal turnover luck and won seven games in the last two minutes.
That regression next year is going to be fun to watch.
And boy am I gonna love seeing how wrong you’ll be. 🙂
lol you will see. How lucky you were this year. Yes.
You lol’d all last season too and were wrong every time. I loved that, too.
The bears have a lucky season about once every 5 years. They disappear the next year.
Well, I think you should get used to the Bears being competitive again and that it’s a much better division when games between them actually matter. And that’s true for the whole division and the game.
We will see.
They will have to play a first place schedule as well.
@Oooof. Chargers seem to be nailing the draft. Guess it depends on who’s the gm is, but hortiz was the head scout for the ravens or definitely heavily involved, you tell by the way he drafts.
Getting a couple of good starters and rotational pieces in the middle rounds is good business, and the Chargers and Ravens have both done well at that. But when’s the last time either team drafted a full blown star after round 3?
And basically no one is consistently great at drafting year after year. Look at John Schneider. Twice in his career he’s had multi-year streaks of killing it in the draft and building Super Bowl teams, and even he had fallow years in between.
Very nice player, but only got past 12 sacks once? 14? Dunno about 2 1sts. I guess someone might. A bad franchise might, jets cowboy types
Hutch just got $180M/4. Compare his last four years to Crosby’s last four years. Crosby is much better, and Hutch is a top-5 DE.
Hutch is coming off of his rookie contract and better than Crosby has ever been. He had like seven sacks in six games before his injury in 2024. He’s like prime Joey Bosa level.
notimportant
Hutch is coming off of his rookie contract and better than Crosby has ever been.
==================
Okay, I’ll play. Over the past four seasons:
Crosby Hutch
GS 61 56
Sacks 44.5 43
Solo Tackles 186 118
Assists 111 58
TFL 90 44
QB Hits 107 100
Hurries 103 68
MTkl% 6 10.2
Now you list all the things Hutch is better at.
Rating a DE based on sacks is how kids rate players.
Classic internet response. Ok, so… Crosby doesn’t translate to wins and doesn’t finish to get sacks. Maybe he’s got great jokes in the clubhouse?
Unless you’re a Raider fan, name another Raider on that defense. Crosby is the only player with any impact so the offense is going to key on him by either staying away or double and triple team him. And yet guess which player leads the leads in tackles for losses and QB knockdowns over the past 7 yrs? He also plays on 93% on snaps which is insane for a lineman. All I’m saying is sacks are known to be a bit of a lucky and/or situational stat.
Eagles should offer a 1st, 3rd and Nolan Smith Jr.
They have 4’mill in cap space according to spotrac .. good luck
4 million with be 40 million by the time Howie is done with his magic.
The cap is an illusion
Umm absolutely not!
Raiders fan. Love mad maxx. The very definition of a pro football player. Bleeds silver and black. But a 1st, 3rd, and Nolan would be very hard to say no to. Plus it’ll give crosby a chance to go win a ring.
Probably only one year left with Nolan, and their pick numbers are 23 & 68, even assuming we get Philly’s top #3. I think we can do better.
Fair. I think someone will jump
I like how the e author keeps referring to whether he wants to be traded. Like he has a choice? If the Raiders want to trade him for a huge haul, they will. With or without his approval.
It’s more like if he really doesn’t want to be there anymore, they’ll trade him.
I’d like to see Crosby play on a contender – but its more likely some team trying to make a splash with their fan base will make the biggest offer.
Aiyuk and 27, plus a second for Crosby would be a total Raiders move
A first and second, with a starting WR? Total raider move… that’s not even a unfair trade offer. A total raider move is them using that first and second round pick on players that’ll only be in the league for a year and a half.
Is Aiyuk still a positive addition given his health and salary?
No, no he’s not. Dude got paid and just quit on his team
Suppose any player is trade able for the right price yet there needs to be viable options to replace or mitigate a departure. Getting draft capital is a gamble and giving away picks that might bring you a young player of equal strength seems a bit risky, yes Maxx is proven but he’s got wear and tear….
I don’t know if I’d trade 2 first round picks for him.
One of the more sensible posts. Maxx is about as good as anyone not names Myles. But his style of play does get him nicked up.
AI must be getting dumber whilst writing the same story over and over and over…
Chiefs could be a sleeper candidate since Chris Jones has been their only pass rusher and he is old
Why would LV trade Crosby, a fan favorite/superstar, to a division rival in KC?
Forgot divisions lol but I mean LV isnt going to be contending for a while
They may not be competitive for awhile, but Raiders fans would cause a scene if he got traded to KC, lol.
Nope
Ohhhhh! Just last week I was berated for saying a bidding war could push the price as high as 3 one’s. Now we are hearing two ones is expected. And then the bidding will start.
Hmmmm.. Silly Bears fans.
You need to return your crystal ball to Walmart and get a refund…it’s clearly defective.
And now we are hearing “the raiders want two 1s plus a player for Crosby.”
Hmmm 🤔 isn’t this darn close to what I said earlier?
I suppose if you make enough predictions the law of averages will result in you getting close once in a while. I don’t think a single prediction you made concerning the Bears last season was correct though…lol.
It was a historically lucky season for them. Historic.
Still a dumb take.
It was the right take then. It’s right now. Hes a game wrecker at a premium position and he’s under 30. Those come at a high price
The article says “could” and insinuates that this is a hypothetical, not expected, outcome. Your bias is on full display here. And he’s not going for 3 firsts.
What bias? Why do I care what Crosby goes for? He won’t be a Packer. The Lions don’t have the room either. It could be the Bears. All I have been saying is that I don’t think he will come cheaply. Two firsts is a relatively common price point for a premier blue chip talent at a premier position.
Once again, Bears fans are over their skis.
What bias? You ended your comment with “silly Bears fans” lol
The player with the most snaps in the league over the past 3 seasons is not going for three 1s. But you’re moving the goalposts now anyway. Is it two or three 1s? That’s an extremely big difference in price.
Hating the bears has little to do with Crosby on its face. Other than not wanting them to be good for a cheap price.
But in this case. It seems I was right anyway. Word is the raiders was two 1s and a player for Max. 🤔💪
Just because they ask for something does not mean that’s what they’ll get. Why wouldn’t they hold a high asking price? It would be awfully dumb of them to say “we’re willing to settle for a 1 and two 2s.”
And you want people to pay for this slop?
Tag and trade Hendrickson and throw 2 second round draft choices in there, get back Crosby and a sixth rounder. Let Vegas deal with the problem child and Crosby is already signed for 2 years. Maxx plays hurt, he plays if he’s sad, glad, or mad and he’s definitely a cheerleader for the team. If he can’t light a fire under Stewart and Murphy’s butts no one can. Hendrickson sat out training camp, signed for what he was offered before training camp, didn’t do any conditioning and got hurt. What a guy. I’d take Crosby over Hendrickson or Parsons on any day of the week.
The Raiders don’t hate Maxx enough to send him to Ohio.
Maxx is a blue collar guy. Cincinnati is a blue collar town. He would thrive. The Raiders used to be the home for misfits and malcontents, but that era is gone. Maybe the new colors will help out though. Raider pink, with purple stripes, feather boas and lots of glitter. Put the mascot in a Liberace costume and you have the Vegas starter set
Raiders would not do that trade unless they were desperate.
Trey’s value has cratered after last season, and they won’t accept anything less than at least one first.
They definitely wouldn’t include a draft pick of their own for Trey and two seconds!
@man. Hendrickson is a free agent. I dont think they can tag him anymore. I think he had that removed, part of the raise, and restructuring.
Rex-They can tag him before March 3rd actually. And no he didn’t have it removed because people thought he was crazy no to. I figured he wanted to be tagged, otherwise he missed a huge opportunity.
To Detroit for their #1, 2027 #2, and Ty Williams.
Detroit can’t afford that with their cap woes.
Don’t bring me down dude.
I mean. Hell. I’d love to have him on the Packers too. But we have a one. Just like you guys. We don’t have the draft capital. And you don’t have the money.
I do think the Bears could jump
I had no idea the Pack had such low draft capital. I forgot you have no 2027 #1.
Yep. But Micah was worth it.
Kind of putting the asking price in perspective – if you’re Green Bay, do you trade Parsons for Crosby straight up?
As a Raiders fan, I’d say it’s close. Parsons is better, but Crosby has a better contract.
Parsons is younger. But still. I’d expect the Raiders to get 2 1s and a player.
No chance. Not even with the injury.
Not worth 2 first round picks
Continued BS
Funny that the only people who keep talking about this are “experts” or “insiders”. Not anybody within the Raiders. Not Maxx. Just talking heads. Slowest time of the NFL calendar so this is what they do. For months.
