The Raiders will be without Derek Carr for a while, but they’re not about to go out-of-house to replace him. The Raiders have no plans to add a quarterback to their 53-man roster, a team source tells ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. Meanwhile, another source tells his colleague Josina Anderson (Twitter link) that the team is “not yet” ready to consider Colin Kaepernick.

The Raiders will turn to former Bills starter E.J. Manuel as their No. 1 QB this Sunday and it only makes sense for them to give him a chance before looking at other options. NFL sophomore Connor Cook will serve as Manuel’s understudy, so even if he falters, the Raiders could theoretically still stand pat.
We’re now at the quarter mark of the season, but Kaepernick hasn’t had so much as an NFL nibble in weeks. Last week, we learned that Kaepernick (unsurprisingly) is not interested in the CFL.
THIS IS A LEGIT QUESTION. Aside from the politics is it possible that his skills have fallen off that much? It happens at all pro levels. If the skills are diminished why bother with the drama?

Politics aside: if he doesn’t perform, a team built to win suffers, if he does perform, he won’t sit quiet when Carr comes back and then you have a good ol’ QB controversy.

That said ej is also kind of run first so I’m not that big of a fan for his fit. Although he showed an ok presence in the pocket against the broncos
All he has to do is go to the CFL,play at a high level and not raise hell by wearing socks with pig cops and Fidel Castro tshirts for like 8 games and someone will sign him.
Why Kaepernick doesn’t have a job is simple. Not many teams offenses are built for him, most teams have their QB depth chart figured out, or they don’t want to sign him and win games in hope of landing a top pick and having a chance at Barkley, Darnold, Rosen or any other top prospects in next years draft
If he wanted to play as bad as he says he does then he would go to the CFL or Arena football so he’s not rusty and show what skills he may have left
When we wore the socks with Police as pigs, he lost me. I wouldn’t want my team to sign him.
