Jamal Adams has made an official trade request, and although the Jets have yet to grant it, the All-Pro safety has formed a list of teams he would be fine with joining.
Both of the Super Bowl LIV participants — the Chiefs and 49ers — headline the list. The Cowboys — who submitted an offer for Adams last October — are also included among a seven-team contingent that features the Ravens, Eagles, Texans and Seahawks, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com tweets.
The Cowboys are the only team on this list that did not qualify for the playoffs last season. Adams, however, is a Texas native. Dallas offered a first-rounder and a Day 3 choice for the Jets standout last year.
As of now, the Jets are not prepared to trade Adams. But the safety may be more amenable to playing the fourth year of his rookie contract with one of the seven teams on this trade wish list than he is with the Jets, who have not made the playoffs since 2010.
The Jets are taking their time on extension talks for their top player, but with Adams signed through 2021 via the fifth-year option, that is not exactly uncommon. Teams often slow-play extensions for former first-rounders because of the option, but Adams is attempting to force the issue.

The last several years the NFC East just hasn’t been a very good division, as a whole. The Redskins and the Giants have both been two of the worst teams in football. The Eagles have been a good team, but they don’t scare anyone come playoff time. Also, the Cowboys are just the Cowboys. They have a solid roster up and down, but they will somehow end up going 7-9 to 9-7 like they have seemingly almost every year for the last 10 years or so..lol

Cowboys then extend Adams and move Dalton to starter (for now) and look at FA at Cam Newton and others who could come in.
Jets have Dak and Darnold competing for starting QB and franchise QB. They also get a top 3 RB in the league who will give them consistent offence.

I love it except I think it’s Jets that who would need to give the draft picks. Albeit, those are some hefty contracts that the Jets are taking on.
I’d rather the Cowboys get rid of Dak, go with Dalton for a year, and spend all that extra cash on the remaining free agents. Clowney, Freeman, etc. Even if it means overpaying them. You have $30MM or more to spend.
I’m with you, let Dak and his agent seek a trade. Let some other sucker make him the highest paid. He’s not worthy. His talent isn’t near the level of Mahomes or Wilson. Take some of that draft capital, trade for Adams and build a Championship caliber defense. All the talent on offense has got them nowhere. They couldn’t make noise with Prescott on his rookie deal and now they think making him the highest paid is the solution. It’s a joke. They could go 9-7, 10-6 with Dalton. Prescott won’t do any better next year.

It’s his rookie deal. You don’t have a choice but to sign that deal when you’re a rookie. It’s also a poor argument as you’re allowed to request a trade. “Hey, y’all can’t pay what I want and I want to go somewhere anyways so here is what I want so you can maximize your return.”
If this was a year or two into a FA deal, maybe you have an argument but not when it’s a guy in a rookie deal.

Why is he upset with the Jets? Is it because they are not a very good team or because they won’t give him the contract he desires? Well, according to his statements it is the latter. He has stated he would stay with the Jets if they had paid up. So, imop, I think has basically stated the $ is more important than being on a winning team that probably can’t meet his salary demands.
The reason he wants traded is money related, or at least that’s how he is presenting it to the media. He may have other motives and is trying to flip the script and make the Jets look bad when he just wants to quit the Jets and weasel his way onto a winning team. So yeah, if it was really about the money and he were smart, the teams with the most cap to offer would be at the top of his wishlist.

If he gets what he wants then he shows other super stars on bad teams the more you complain you eventually get what you want. It’s worked for the NBA stars like Melo and more recently AD.
