Texans Acquire No. 12, Take Deshaun Watson

The Texans have acquired the No. 12 overall pick from the Browns. The Browns will receive the Texans’ No. 25 overall pick plus their 2018 first round pick. With the pick, the Texans have selected Clemson’s Deshaun Watson.Deshaun Watson Texans (vertical)

The Texans, of course, have been on the lookout for a quarterback and Watson could be the player to supplant Tom Savage as the starter in 2017. Watson has been criticized for having less accuracy than other QB prospects in this year’s class, but he has two years of solid football under his belt and he is the most athletic of the bunch.

The Browns now own both the Texans’ first and second round picks in next year’s draft. The Browns previously acquired Houston’s second round pick in the Brock Osweiler trade.

Smart move Cleveland, stockpile picks and then grab Kizer later on.

2018 QB class is MUCH better than this draft class. Browns making sure they have some ammo if they need to trade up.

Watson is a bust in the making. Browns made a solid trade and maybe could’ve gotten more but I’m cool

Just wait, with the injury concerns he can slide to the 2nd round and maybe even farther

Yeah I hadn’t heard about the injuries. I thought he was just sliding because people were set on certain guys.

Yeah I had heard about all of Foster’s issues I just hadn’t realized Allen had injuries too.

  4. The browns have just ate the Texans for lunch this off-season. Great move by Cleveland.

For what Chicago gave up to go from 3 to 2, I would’ve expected more for a deal to go from 25 to 12.

I think that they had the Bears convinced they were really interested in Trubisky, so that was what he was being traded for, not the #2 pick according to the pick value charts.

    • Your expectations should be tempered. Just because Lynch bent Pace over and stuck it in his rear end does not mean the other GM’s have to pay what the Bears so overwhelmingly overpaid
