Cowboys Work Out Ronnie Hillman

Denard Robinson isn’t the only veteran running back getting consideration from the Cowboys. The team also auditioned Ronnie Hillman on Thursday, according to Field Yates of ESPN.com (on Twitter). Ronnie Hillman (vertical)

It appears that the Cowboys are looking into reserve running backs on the cusp of training camp. While they arguably have the best trio of running backs in the NFL (Ezekiel Elliott, Darren McFadden, and Alfred Morris), the Cowboys are still looking at ways to bolster the unit.

Hillman, 26 in September, was a surprise cut by the Broncos before the 2016 season. Last year, he spent time with the Vikings and Chargers, but he didn’t do a whole lot with his 41 combined carries. Hillman’s 131 rushing yards left him with a career-low 3.2 yards per carry average and he had zero touchdowns for the first time in his five-year career.

Sweatin zeke’s suspension! Boys r major team to disappoint this yr, Dak played outta his mind as rook, leagues had whole off-season to game plan him now, soph slump, play action not as dangerous missin startn RB, severely overachieved last yr….how long till Tony, Tony chants….

Everyone forgets that zeke played like shit the first two games last year anyway. Racked up most of his yards after those. Offensive line has some questions just with new holes being filled, but this is all major overreaction. The cowboys running game will be the least of their problems this year.

Overreaction. PA game will be fine bc teams will still have to respect a top 5 offensive line. Even if it’s McFadden or Morris you’ll still put 8 in the box on first or second down bc Garrett is predictable like that. I’ll take a 50/50 ball going to dez most of the time. Cowboys fans should be much more worried about our Swiss cheese secondary.

I’m not worried about the offense at all. You can also go 5 wide with the addition of Switzer. Nobody will be able to stop it
