Mike McCarthy is looking for a new job and it sounds like the Jets will have the first crack at him. McCarthy is expected to interview with Gang Green for their head coaching vacancy, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com tweets. 
McCarthy has been connected to the Jets for the last few months, even while Todd Bowles manned the sidelines in New York and McCarthy was at the helm in Green Bay. The Jets, despite their lack of recent success, offer an attractive situation for someone of McCarthy’s ilk thanks to the presence of Sam Darnold and their expected $100MM+ in cap room. The Jets, meanwhile, probably see McCarthy as the right coach to guide Darnold since he is entering Year Two, which is precisely when McCarthy entered Aaron Rodgers‘ development.
On the flipside, the Jets say they will not grant total control over the 53-man roster to any coach, which may be a barrier for the 55-year-old. The Jets will also have to contend with a number of other teams for his services, a group that will probably include the Broncos and Browns as well.
He will be fired in 2021

McCarthey doesn’t have what it takes to win a super bowl anymore. When he has a lead in the NFC championship he packs it in and just calls runs up the middle.
That would be the worst job out of head coach vacancies, because they need the most work out of the other 7 job openings
That’s a false statement. They have $100M in cap space with a franchise-type QB and the possible addition of LeVeon Bell. They also have a fairly good defense which will also be upgraded via free agency. Don’t be a Jets hater just because they’ve been so bad for so long
Darnold needs to take the Goff/Trubisky step up in year 2 to prove he is a franchise QB.
Well, they wont have 100M in cap space an Bell, since getting Bell will dent into the 100M. But i see your point
The worst job would be Tampa Bay or Arizona
Cincinnati easily the worst job. Best are Cleveland and Green Bay.
Would take Jets job over all except Browns and maybe Packers
Yes let’s hope the Jets sign McCant Win. He will melt down in NY quicker than butter on the sun. He has to be the MOST OVERRATED coach of all time. 13 years 1 SuperBowl ring and several seasons picked to win and a then a complete bust. He couldn’t develop film at an Kodak store more less a QB. Here is hoping the Jets get him. Him and the NY media he will be crying foul before the intro is over.
