Arians: Bucs Will Not Consider Antonio Brown

A reunion between Tom Brady and Antonio Brown already appeared unlikely, and Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians has now removed any doubt. Appearing on CBS Sports’ “Tiki and Tierney” show (Twitter link), Arians dispelled any notion that Brown would surface in Tampa Bay.

“Yeah, it’s not going to happen,” Arians said. “It’s just not going to happen. There’s no room and probably not enough money. But it’s just not going to happen. It’s not a fit here.”

When pressed on whether he’d consider Brown on a minimum salary deal, Arians again demurred. “No. I just know him and it’s not a fit in our locker room.”

Brown, of course, hasn’t played football since Week 2 of the 2019 regular season, but he’s been linked to Brady on multiple occasions. The former Patriots signal-caller reportedly objected when New England released Brown last season following recurring off-field issues, leaving the club devoid of on-field weapons.

Arians previously worked with Brown as the Steelers’ offensive coordinator from 2010-11. The Buccaneers, meanwhile, don’t necessarily need any help at wide receiver; the club already boasts arguably the NFL’s best pass-catching duo in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Now we just need the other 31 head coaches to give the same response. Maybe AB will disappear permanently.

lol. How long before AB goes in on Arians on social media? Good for the Bucs and Arians

The closest AB will get to the NFL again is the articles written about him here

@dynamite drop Not sure you know what petty means. It means of little importance or making a big deal out of things that are trivial or no big deal.
Dude – The bullshit psycho egotistical antics that Brown has displayed myriad times have been no way in hell trivial and no big deal. Every critical thing said about him by commentors is warranted, and much more.
I’m not a Bucs fan, but I love hearing Arians give a hard no.

“Not interested” is likely the nicest thing AB is going to hear from anybody in the NFL making personnel decisions for a while.

Wait until preseason next year and either Evans or Goodwin go down. That’s when they call him…

When will people realize this is nothing to do with talent.

Every wide receiver in the league could go down with injury and teams still wouldnt sign AB.

He as mature as a chicken egg

The Rooneys only give leeway to guys they like (Roethlisberger, Harrison). Brown is definitely not on that list.

You can’t have this Clown Show and Circus come to Tampa! They already have the Ringlings and their Museums… So they don’t need Antonio Brown at camp. And if Arians gets a seed in his head and wants to change his mind, just watch Hard Knocks with the Raiders. So enough is enough. Let the Cowboys sign him

Speaking of AB it’s been a while since he’s had some press… he’s overdue for another clown act

Good, he was good when he was a Steeler but his attitude and shenanigans grew tiresome. No one wants him know. He can rot. Hopefully no one has to live in the same building as this goof!

Godwin is one of the best route runners on the planet, Brady is all set. Evans on the other hand, is going to get an earful a few times a game because that dude will drop a baby his hands are so bad

“No. I just know him and it’s not a fit in our locker room.”This says it all. Good for you Bruce. I respect the fact that you didn’t sugar coat it or be pc about it.

Arians should have kept the option open because you never know when you might need someone to throw furniture off your balcony.
