Vikings Waive Chandler Harnish

Chandler Harnish‘s 26-hour career as a member of the Vikings has come to a close. The team announced that they have waived him, according to Adam Caplan of ESPN.com (via Twitter).

The Vikings promoted Harnish from the practice squad to the active roster prior to last night’s game against the Packers. With Matt Cassel out of commission and Teddy Bridgewater scratched, the Vikings were desperate for a No. 2 quarterback behind Christian Ponder.

As Tom Pelissero of USA Today Sports (via Twitter) notes, Harnish made $29,117 for his one day on the Vikings’ active roster and never had to take the field. That’s a pretty sweet deal. He’s probably a good bet to return to the Vikings’ practice squad.
