The Patriots have agreed to sign defensive lineman Lawrence Guy to a four-year deal worth up to $20MM, tweets Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Guy, 27, next week, had been linked to a number of teams during the free agent period, but the Ravens were reportedly monitoring his market and had interest in re-signing him. Instead, Guy will head to New England after visiting with the club earlier this week. Guy, who ranked as PFR’s No. 12 interior defender, also drew interest from the Redskins and Dolphins.
The Patriots are revamping their defensive line after finishing just 26th in adjusted sack rate in 2016. After re-signing defensive tackle Alan Branch to a two-year deal, New England also traded for Panthers defensive end Kony Ealy. While they’ve lost Jabaal Sheard to the Colts, the Patriots still boast Trey Flowers, Malcom Brown, and Geneo Grissom.
Guy hasn’t missed a game over the past two seasons, earning 16 combined starts for the Ravens. After recording 4.5 sacks during the 2015 campaign, Guy finished the 2016 season with 28 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble.

How many times do I have to say this, sign Hightower and Butler then trade Jimmy G and Amindola to the Browns for the 12th overall pick and a 2nd round pick and 2 3rd round picks and use the 12th pick to draft Dalvin Cook
They’re more likely to cut Amendola and they’ll probably draft an outside linebacker because McClellan isn’t that great and Ninkovich is getting old

Sull thats an awful trade id much rather get proven players back for Jimmy G than draft picks. Why do you keep saying the same thing? Do you think Bill goes on here and says oh Crazysull wants a first 2nd, and 2 3rds for Jimmy G im gonna get right on that. The most i can realistically see the Browns offering is the 12th pick 2018 2nd and the 108th pick
And what exactly do you think is so valuable about amendola that you think the browns would throw in more picks to get him
