The NFL won’t mandate vaccines for players attending this year’s draft, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero (Twitter links). Though the league is encouraging COVID-19 vaccinations, they will not bar players, coaches, or team personnel from attending if they have not gotten their shots.

Per a memo from the league office, up to ten fully vaccinated individuals can congregate in the draft room without masks or distancing requirements. Any draft room with non-vaccinated personnel will be capped at a 20-person capacity with protocols in place.
Beyond the draft, Dr. Allen Sills – the NFL’s chief medical officer — plans to encourage prospects and existing players to get vaccines. However, it will not be a must for players in the 2021 season.
This year’s (non-virtual) draft will kick off in Cleveland on Thursday,April 29 and run through Saturday, May 1.
The worldwide mandate is there though. All cruises departing from the Bahamas will require all staff and guests to have the shots. So traveling from state to state, documentation will have to be shown. Its coming.

Both of my parents have immunization cards. My wife and I don’t have the cards….yet!
yeah that might be viable at international borders or functions but your not going to have officers guarding state borders to see if you have a card. plus that’s probably illegal.
If its state or federal law to show proof of vaccination; how’s that illegal? ‘Want to fly into (name any airport) show proof of being vaccinated.’

My family flew to Colorado for Xmas. United airlines had clear rules on what was to be required to travel. We complied and were able to fly. For example, if I argued about wearing a masks, I would have been removed from the flight. Very clear.

Yeah, markdavisbarber, conservatives used to complain about such things. But then they decided that voters should have to provide a government-issued photo ID (and not just any gov’t-issued photo ID) to vote, so they stopped complaining about the government or cops demanding to see your papers.
Anyone thinking the lazy authorities currently checking drivers licenses anywhere are going to add vaccine cards to their plate is delusional.

Not surprised by the decision. Could be a lot of messy legal ramifications if these prospects are forced to be vaccinated and then have medical side effects due to conditions the NFL weren’t aware of. Makes more sense to wait until these players have actually signed team contracts.
It is not a mandate for anyone else to get a COVID-19 vaccine so no way should it be a mandate for the NFL. I have several family members in the health care field and work in hospitals. Hospitals, while recommending it, are not requiring it. Most of my relatives, including myself have gotten a shot. None of us were forced to. All voluntary.
Just get a counterfeit vaccination card and be done with it.
Probably will be one of the easiest and most counterfeited item that will hit the criminal market in the next 6 months.
