Jason Campbell

Contract Details: Vick, Campbell, Jenkins

The one-year deal Michael Vick inked with the Jets is worth a guaranteed $4MM, including a $2MM signing bonus and $2MM guaranteed base salary, tweets Tom Pelissero of USA Today. The contract was originally reported as a $5MM pact, so perhaps there are incentives related to playing time or performance.

Here are several more contract details from around the NFL:

Bengals Sign Jason Campbell

THURSDAY, 10:50am: The Bengals have made the Campbell signing official, tweets Coley Harvey of ESPN.com.

WEDNESDAY, 9:10pm: The Bengals have reached agreement with Jason Campbell on a one-year deal, tweets Adam Schefter of ESPN. The signal caller is now reunited with former Raiders head coach Hue Jackson who now serves as Cincinnati’s offensive coordinator.

Campbell, 32, was released by the Browns right before he was due to collect a $250K roster bonus. The veteran has had stints with the Redskins, Raiders, Bears, and Browns and started eight games for Cleveland last season after Brian Hoyer went down with a knee injury. His numbers were passable, as he completed 56.8% of his 317 passes for 2,015 yards, 11 TDs, and eight interceptions, but the new regime in Cleveland wanted to go in another direction. Now, the Bengals have landed themselves a capable backup in support of Andy Dalton.

Browns Release Jason Campbell

The Browns have parted ways their second quarterback of the afternoon, announcing that they’ve released Jason Campbell, according to the team’s official Twitter feed. The move comes on the heels of Brandon Weeden‘s release. Campbell had been owed a $250K roster bonus if he remained on Cleveland’s roster beyond tomorrow.

Campbell, who has had stints with the Redskins, Raiders, Bears, and Browns, started eight games for Cleveland last season after Brian Hoyer went down with a knee injury. His numbers were passable, as he completed 56.8% of his 317 passes for 2,015 yards, 11 TDs, and eight interceptions. However, with a new decision-making team in place for the Browns, it appears the quarterback position will be overhauled.

With Weeden and Campbell out and Hoyer returning from that knee injury, the Browns appear likely to draft a quarterback early in May’s draft. The team also may add another signal-caller in free agency for depth purposes.

Campbell’s release frees up $3.25MM in 2014 cap space for the Browns.

FA Rumors: O-Line, Davis, Vinatieri, Campbell

The market for offensive linemen is beginning to heat up, and Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun has a couple of predictions from league sources. In one of his tweets, he identifies potential landing spots for Branden Albert (Dolphins), Jared Veldheer (Cardinals), Rodger Saffold (Raiders), Anthony Collins (Buccaneers) and Eugene Monroe (Ravens). In another tweet, he mentions that the Raiders have already talked to Saffold and Monroe, while the Buccaneers have contacted Saffold and Collins.

A couple of more notes on available (and potential) free agents…
