Bengals’ Harris Designated For Return
Bengals cornerback Davontae Harris returned to practice on Wednesday, paving the way for him to return from IR. The move starts a three-week window for him to practice with the team. For now, he does not count against the 53-man roster, but he must be activated in the next 21 days in order for him to play this season.

Harris, a fifth-round rookie, suffered a knee injury against the Cowboys in the preseason and has been sidelined for the last few months. The Illinois State product made some noise at the combine with a 4.43-second 40-yard-dash and a 4.4-second 20-yard shuttle, so the Bengals are curious to see what he can do.
The Bengals are starting Dre Kirkpatrick and William Jackson at the outside corner spots with Darqueze Dennard in the slot and Tony McRae, Darius Phillips, and KeiVarae Russell in support. One of those reserve corners may have to go if Harris is activated this year.
Colts’ Joe Haeg Designated For Return
The Colts’ offensive line is about to get even stronger. Tackle/guard Joe Haeg has been designated as the team’s second and final player to return from IR this year, per a team announcement.
The third-year pro was placed on IR Sept. 28 after suffering an ankle injury in the Colts’ Week 3 loss to the Eagles. Prior to that, Haeg had started Indy’s first three games of the season at right tackle.
Even without Haeg, the Colts’ offensive line has been dominant as of late. Quarterback Andrew Luck has not been sacked in four straight games, and the Colts racked up 200 rushing yards in consecutive games against the Bills and Raiders.
Haeg’s skill set and versatility should only help to further bolster the Colts’ front five. The former fifth-round pick will probably spend the bulk of his time on the outside, but he can also move around a bit. As a rookie, he started games at left guard, right guard, and right tackle.

Cardinals To Sign CB David Amerson
David Amerson went through a workout with the Cardinals on Tuesday, per NFL reporter Howard Balzer (on Twitter), and it evidently went well.
The veteran cornerback agreed to terms with the Cards on Tuesday night, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com tweets.
It’s been a season-long odyssey on the workout circuit for Amerson. Both the Chiefs and Raiders released Amerson this year, with the former doing so just before the season. Since, he’s been traveling to auditions in hopes of getting back in the league. The Cards will afford him that opportunity.
Amerson was a full-time starter for the Redskins and Raiders from 2014-17. He delivered a strong 2015 season and then signed an extension to stay with the Raiders. He wasn’t as consistent in 2016 or ’17, but started for the playoff-qualifying Raiders two years ago. Last season, Amerson was limited to six games.
In between his Chiefs and Cardinals employment, Amerson logged an extensive workout tour. He tried out for seven teams prior to his Cards workout — the Lions, Cowboys, Bills, Patriots, Packers, Saints and Dolphins. The Cards and Dolphins auditions occurred this month. The others came in September. The former second-round pick visited with both the Bears and Texans in February.
The Jon Gruden-led regime released him prior to free agency. The Cardinals will face the Raiders on Sunday. Arizona still has a roster spot available after the Amerson deal.
Rams’ Pharoh Cooper To Return From IR
Aqib Talib‘s return will be the higher-profile Rams IR decision, but on Tuesday, they used the first of their IR-return slots on a specialist.
Return man Pharoh Cooper will come off Los Angeles’ IR and return to practice. An ankle injury sustained in Week 1 shelved Cooper. Having gone on IR before Week 2, Cooper could return to action Monday if the Rams choose. They have three weeks to activate the All-Pro returner, or he’ll stay on IR the rest of the way.
This will lock the Rams into Cooper and Talib coming back from IR. Talib is expected to be ready to return from his ankle malady after L.A.’s Week 12 bye. The Rams’ IR, though, isn’t filled with return candidates who would rival a Cooper comeback.
Cooper earned All-Pro acclaim for his return work last season. Former UDFA Jojo Natson‘s been the Rams’ return man during Cooper’s absence.
Patriots Activate Duke Dawson From IR
The Patriots have officially activated second-round cornerback Duke Dawson from injured reserve to the 53-man roster, as Field Yates of ESPN.com tweets. In corresponding moves, the team released running back Kenjon Barner and linebacker Nicholas Grigsby.
The Patriots were forced to place the rookie on IR in September due to a hamstring injury. Now, after a few weeks of practice, the former Florida Gator is good to go.
Dawson was in the mix to become New England’s slot cornerback early in camp but will likely rejoin the team as depth piece behind Jonathan Jones. In time, Dawson may overtake Jones, who Pro Football Focus grades as the league’s No. 57 ranked corner this year.
If he’s on the gameday roster, Dawson will have a chance to make his debut against the Jets in New Jersey on Nov. 25.
Bills Cut WR Terrelle Pryor
The Bills released wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com (on Twitter). Pryor was signed just a couple of weeks ago, but didn’t do much in his two games with Buffalo.
In Pryor’s first game with the Bills, he was on the field for 83% of the team’s snaps. On Sunday against the Jets, he saw just 43% of snaps. His brief stint in Buffalo is now over after catching just two passes for 17 yards.
The former Ohio State quarterback broke out in 2016 with the Browns, tallying 77 catches for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns. He joined the Redskins after that on a one-year contract, but was unable to take advantage of the platform deal. His 2017 season ended with a 20/240/1 stat line, and he has a similar 16/252/2 line through eight games this year.
It’s fair to wonder whether injuries are still hampering Pryor’s production. The Jets released Pryor in October while he was dealing with a groin strain. Days later, he declared himself to be close to 100% healthy, but he didn’t look all that sharp with the Bills. The 29-year-old had a couple of solid performances with the Jets this fall, so there’s still reason to believe that Pryor can be a difference maker in the NFL.
Redskins Activate CB Joshua Holsey
The Redskins activated cornerback Joshua Holsey, per a club announcement. Holsey began the season on the non-football injury list, but is finally healthy enough to get back on the field.

Holsey was parked on NFI during training camp when a table landed on his foot. The timing was unfortunate as Holsey figured to see a larger role in the defense following the Kendall Fuller trade.
As a rookie in 2017, Holsey played mostly on special teams and appeared in 12 games. This year, he figures to see special teams work once again, though he may see an uptick in snaps as well. He joins a cornerback depth chart that includes Josh Norman, Quinton Dunbar, Fabian Moreau, sixth-round pick Greg Stroman, UDFA Danny Johnson, and supplemental draft pick Adonis Alexander.
In a corresponding move, the Redskins formally placed offensive lineman Geron Christian on IR.
