Mitch Trubisky To Miss Time?
- The Bears have yet to announce anything on Mitch Trubisky‘s injury, but Adam Schefter of ESPN.com tweets the team may be without its starting passer for a bit. Trubisky’s MRI revealed a dislocated left shoulder and a slight labrum tear, per Schefter, who adds the third-year QB is unlikely to face the Raiders in London. Trubisky is not expected to need surgery. Chase Daniel has proven to be a capable fill-in, having piloted the Bears to two wins in relief of Trubisky in the past two seasons. Trubisky missed two games with a right shoulder malady last season.
Bears Release T/TE Bradley Sowell
Akiem Hicks‘ availability for Week 4 is very much in doubt. The Bears promoted defensive lineman Jonathan Harris from their practice squad.
To make room on their 53-man roster for Robertson, however, the Bears released Bradley Sowell. The team had moved him from tackle to tight end this offseason. Sowell has been with the Bears since the 2017 season, having played in 34 regular-season games in that span.
Hicks left Monday night’s game with a knee injury and may now be on the wrong side of questionable to face the Vikings on Sunday. Harris was part of Chicago’s UDFA class but did not make the team out of training camp. The Bears stashed him on their practice squad.
It’s certainly possible Sowell could be brought back to the roster once Hicks is healthy. The Bears made this move last week, releasing Sowell and then re-signing him. Sowell, who played 11 snaps this season, is in his age-30 campaign. He’s been used strictly as a backup with the Bears but was a former regular starter with the Cardinals and Seahawks.

Bears OL Bobby Massie Suffering From Vertigo
- Bears right tackle Bobby Massie was forced to sit out tonight’s game against the Redskins due to a bout with vertigo, reports Mike Garafolo of NFL Network (via Twitter). The illness apparently popped up today, and it’s uncertain if this is a temporary or long-term issue for the 30-year-old. After starting each of his 46 games during his first three seasons in Chicago, Massie added another two starts to his resume this season.

Bears Work Out Shane Ray, Noah Spence
The Bears worked out edge defenders Shane Ray, Noah Spence, Nate Orchard and Dekoda Watson on Tuesday, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.
A former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2015, Ray was among the Ravens’ final cuts this past summer after signing a $1.2MM deal with $200K guaranteed shortly after this past May’s compensatory deadline. After having 12 sacks in his first two seasons, Ray missed large portions of the next two seasons due to injury and was looking forward to having a bounce back campaign in 2019.
Spence, a former second-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2016, most recently worked out with the Redskins after not making the Buccaneers’ 53-man roster. Orchard, who was recently released by the Dolphins, and Watson, who was among the Broncos’ final cuts, are both looking to continue their careers after bouncing around to a number of teams over the past couple of years.
Behind starters Khalil Mack and Leonard Floyd, the Bears feature Aaron Lynch and former UDFA Isaiah Irving. Tuesday’s workout contingent each boasts at least three years of NFL experience.
