Packers TE Josiah Deguara Tears ACL
Packers rookie tight end Josiah Deguara will miss the rest of the season because of an ACL tear he suffered Monday night, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com tweets.
Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur called the injury “a pretty bad one,” but has not confirmed it is season-ending. However, it does appear the third-round draft choice will not return until 2021.
Deguara returned to action Monday after dealing with ankle and shin ailments. The Cincinnati product missed the previous two Packers games. Though also spending time as a fullback, Deguara was the top pass catcher the Packers chose in a draft scrutinized due to the team’s lack of a wide receiver investment. Deguara posted 972 receiving yards and 12 touchdown receptions between his junior and senior seasons with the Bearcats.
As for the Packers’ tight end picture, they still have some decent depth at the position. They have 15th-year veteran Marcedes Lewis, 2019 third-rounder Jace Sternberger and 2020 touchdown machine Robert Tonyan on their active roster going into Week 5.
Packers To Meet With Snacks Harrison
Defensive tackle Damon Harrison will meet with the Packers on Wednesday, according to Josina Anderson of ESPN.com (on Twitter). That will follow Harrison’s previously-reported Tuesday get-together with the Seahawks. 
The Packers – who have been without Kenny Clark for the last three games – could use the help up front. The Seahawks, meanwhile, don’t necessarily need Snacks. So far, they rank third in the NFL in rush defense, allowing just 3.4 yards per carry to opposing running backs.
Harrison made his name as a fierce run-stuffer with the Jets before signing a lucrative free agent deal with the Giants in 2016. Then, he was shipped to Detroit midway through the 2018 campaign, where he became the first defensive lineman to appear in 17 games during an NFL regular season.
Harrison wasn’t happy with the Lions and considered retirement last year. Eventually, he decided that he still wanted to play, but only for a winning team. The undefeated Packers and Seahawks would fit the bill, giving him a chance to get further than he ever did with the Lions, Giants, or Jets.

On the heels of the Texans’ surprise firing of Bill O’Brien, we’ve got some much more tame moves to pass along. Here are today’s minor transactions:

With Davante Adams and Allen Lazard both out, it makes sense why the Packers are bolstering the receiving corp. Begelton is a 2016 UDFA from Lamar who spent the past three seasons in the CFL. If he gets on the field for the Packers, it’ll be his first NFL action. Killins is an undrafted rookie from UCF, who made his pro debut on Sunday Night Football last night. He carried the ball once for -12 yards and caught one pass for two yards. He’ll likely head back to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
Packers Place Christian Kirksey On IR
Packers inside linebacker Christian Kirksey sustained a shoulder injury during the team’s Sunday night victory over the Saints, and Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reported earlier this week that Kirksey would miss at least one game as a result. Unfortunately, the Packers placed the 28-year-old ‘backer on IR today, sidelining him for at least three games.
It’s a tough break for Kirksey, who was released by the Browns in March following two injury-marred seasons. An assortment of ailments limited him to just seven games in 2018, and he missed all but two games of the 2019 campaign due to a broken collarbone. He still managed to find a nice payday in free agency, landing a two-year, $13MM contract from Green Bay after generating a significant amount of interest on the open market.
He played in all of the Packers’ defensives snaps over the first two games of the season, recording 12 total tackles in each contest. He also served as the defensive signal-caller. 2019 seventh-rounder Ty Summers filled in for Kirksey and wore the speaker helmet, and the team reported no communication issues.
Still, if Kirksey is out for an extended period, Green Bay could look to sign a veteran, especially since the club is also starting UDFA rookie Krys Barnes at the other inside linebacker spot. Players like Wesley Woodyard and old friend Jake Ryan currently headline the available ILBs.
Packers’ Allen Lazard Out Indefinitely
Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard is out indefinitely after undergoing core muscle surgery, as ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter tweets. The timing is unfortunate as Lazard is coming off of one of the best games of his career — a six-catch, 146-yard showing against the Saints. The Packers placed Lazard on IR Saturday.
The Packers could now be without their top two receivers heading into Monday’s game against the Falcons. Davante Adams remains questionable with a hamstring injury, which could leave Green Bay with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Malik Taylor, and recent practice squad call-up Darrius Shepherd as their only three receivers. At minimum, you can expect the Packers to add one receiver to the group over the weekend, possibly Robert Foster, Caleb Scott, or Juwann Winfree from their expanded 16-man unit.
So far, Aaron Rodgers has loved what he’s seen from the 24-year-old former UDFA. Unfortunately, he’ll have to wait a while before he gets to work with him again.
“He was as productive as just about anybody in camp, and I really like his approach,” Rodgers said (via ESPN.com). “He’s the one who’s always in Davante’s ear, listening to what he’s talking about. Damn near every time I come in the Hutson Center during training camp when we’re starting practice, I walk in and do the same thing, put my helmet down. And Shep is picking Davante’s brain about releases and certain things. And look, I try and pay attention as much as I possibly can, but that sticks with you. That impacts you. You’re seeing just that desire to improve and get better. And then you see it on the field.”

Packers Promote DL Billy Winn
This weekend, Billy Winn could make his first NFL appearance in four years. ESPN’s Field Yates reports (via Twitter) that the Packers have promoted the veteran defensive tackle to their active roster.
The 2012 sixth-round pick spent the first three-plus seasons of his career with the Browns, compiling 54 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. He was traded to the Colts during the 2015 campaign, and after collecting 14 tackles and two fumble recoveries in 12 games (three starts), he landed on the injured reserve.
The Broncos signed Winn to a one-year deal prior to the 2016 season, and he proceeded to appear in all 16 games for Denver, finishing with 19 tackles.However, the veteran hasn’t seen the field since then. He re-signed with the organization prior to the 2017 season, but a torn ACL sidelined him for the entire campaign. It was a similar situation in 2018; Winn re-signed with the team before a triceps injury landed him on IR. He was released by Indy back in March, and the Packers added him to their practice squad earlier this month.
With defensive tackle Kenny Clark questionable for this weekend’s game with a groin injury, Green Bay was looked for some reinforcement along the defensive line.
