Jaguars Notes: Robinson, Adams
- Alabama defensive lineman Jonathan Allen and LSU safety Jamal Adams will meet with the Jaguars on Thursday and Friday, respectively, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com (Twitter links). Jacksonville, which holds the fourth overall pick, is taking a look at all the draft’s top prospects, as reports yesterday indicated players such as Myles Garrett, Reuben Foster, and Leonard Fournette will also visit with the Jaguars this week.
- In addition to the Jaguars, Adams also plans to visit the Titans and Bears, reports Ross Dellenger of the Advocate (Twitter link). Adams (unofficially) ran the 40-yard-dash in 4.33 seconds at LSU’s pro day, Josh Katzenstein of the Times Picayune tweets, and that mark might help his stock. At the combine in February, Adams only managed to post a 4.56 finish.
- The Jaguars are set to host Alabama offensive tackle Cam Robinson on Wednesday and Thursday, tweets Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Subsequently, Robinson will travel to meet with the 49ers and Bengals, per Rapoport. Robinson is one of the more divisive prospects of 2017, as some draftniks believe he’s the top left tackle available, while other observers think he’ll eventually have to move to guard. Either way, Robinson seems likely to be taken in the first round, and he’s also met with Denver thus far.
Jaguars To Meet With Marshon Lattimore
- Ohio State defensive back Marshon Lattimore is in San Francisco to meet with the 49ers today (Wednesday), a source tells Ian Rapoport of NFL.com (on Twitter). He’ll visit all of the top five teams, Rapoport adds. His visits with Tennessee and Chicago were previously reported, but we now know that he’ll also huddle up with the Jaguars and Browns. As buzz continues to build around Lattimore, it seems increasingly likely that he won’t make it out of the top five.
Jags Met With Top Prospects
The Jaguars will host Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster and Ohio State safety Malik Hooker later this week, according to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union (Twitter link). Jacksonville holds the fourth overall pick, but both Foster and Hooker seem like unlikely selections given the club’s recent draft picks (Myles Jack) and free agent additions (Tashaun Gipson, Barry Church). Still, the Jaguars are likely simply doing due diligence on the draft’s top prospects. Indeed, the club is also slated to meet with running back Dalvin Cook (Florida State), running back Leonard Fournette (LSU), edge rusher Myles Garrett (Texas A&M), and running back Joe Mixon (Oklahoma), as O’Halloran writes in a full piece.
Jaguars Rumors: Thomas, Watson
There continues to be lots of talk about Solomon Thomas going No. 2 overall, Matt Miller of Bleacher Report hears (Twitter links). However, he’s not totally convinced that it’ll the 49ers taking him. On one hand, the Niners could use a strong 4-3 defensive end and Thomas could be used a role similar to what Michael Bennett has filled for Seattle. At the same time, Miller can also see the Niners trading out from No. 2, allowing the Panthers or Jaguars to move up for Thomas.
- Quarterback Deshaun Watson is scheduled to be with the Jaguars on Wednesday and Thursday (Twitter link via Josina Anderson of ESPN.com).
Jaguars To Meet With O.J. Howard
- The Panthers, Jaguars, and Bears will all meet with Alabama tight end O.J. Howard, who has previously chatted with the Titans and Buccaneers, reports Connor Orr of NFL.com. Howard is universally regarded as the draft’s No. 1 tight end, and could be selected as high as pick No. 4 when Jacksonville is on the board. Over the past two years in Tuscaloosa, Howard averaged 42 receptions for 599 yards while displaying ferocious blocking skills.
Aaron Colvin Likely To Play Out Contract Year
- The Jaguars are likely to begin extension conversations with the younger members of their roster in the near future, but cornerback Aaron Colvin — who is entering his contract year — is likely to play out the season and hit the open market with the hope of moving to outside corner, a source tells Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida-Times Union. Colvin only played in 10 games in 2016 due to a suspension and an ankle injury, and his playing time will be limited once again in 2017 thanks to the presence of Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye.
Jaguars Notes: Jones, Willis
- Scouts view North Carolina State safety Josh Jones as a top-50 pick, according to Pauline, and a number of clubs have already expressed interest. Jones has worked out for the Jaguars and will meet with the Cardinals, Steelers, Ravens, Dolphins, and Jets. While Mel Kiper Jr. of ESPN.com ranks Jones as just the seventh-best safety on the board, Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com places Jones within his top-50 players (No. 48).
- The Jaguars have visited with Kansas State defensive end Jordan Willis, reports Pauline, and the Eagles, Buccaneers, Dolphins, and Cowboys all plan to meet with the edge rusher, as well. Even with that level of interest, Willis will still likely end up being selected at the beginning of the second round rather than at the end of the first, writes Pauline. The Saints have already put Willis through a workout.

Jaguars Eyeing Utah O-Lineman
- There were a number of offensive line coaches at Utah’s Pro Day, including staff from the Jets, Browns, Jaguars, and Lions. Offensive tackle Sam Tevi was impressive during the workouts, and the big man has drawn particular interest from both the Saints and Patriots.

NFLPA Probing Jaguars For CBA Violation
Tom Coughlin‘s return to Jacksonville may encounter some mild turbulence this offseason. A letter from the new Jaguars executive VP to several players is now the subject of an NFLPA investigation, with Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reporting a possible CBA violation occurred this month.
Coughlin sent a letter to several Jaguars players currently under contract saying they needed to report to the team’s facility for a physical earlier this month. However, the Jags do not begin their offseason program until April 10, and multiple sources informed O’Halloran the league’s CBA does not permit this request.
A player who does not live in Jacksonville who balked at paying his own travel expenses to return for this surprise request is believed to have notified his agent, who then alerted the NFLPA, per O’Halloran. Jags players are not allowed at their facility until that April date. Several players, though, were advised by their agents to follow through with the physical even as the investigation transpires. O’Halloran reports a possible punishment for the franchise will be the forfeiture of an OTA this spring.
This potential violation, though, does not appear to be as severe as the one the Ravens were found guilty of last year. Baltimore had to forfeit a week’s worth of OTAs for its practice-related infraction last year. The Seahawks and Falcons will also have fewer than the allowed 10 OTA sessions this year due to violations.
Jaguars Sign Malliciah Goodman
The Jaguars have signed Malliciah Goodman, according to agent Chad Speck (Twitter link). Terms of the defensive lineman’s deal are not yet known. 
With the exception of the 2014 season, in which he appeared in all 16 of the Falcons’ games and started ten, Goodman didn’t see much action during his four-year career. In 2016, Goodman appeared in one game for the Seahawks before circling back to Atlanta. The Falcons cut him in December, so he didn’t get to join the team for its run to the Super Bowl.
The Jaguars project to start a strong defensive line this year with ends Dante Fowler and Calais Campbell plus defensive tackles. Malik Jackson and Abry Jones. Goodman, for now, will join defensive ends Yannick Ngakoue, Jonathan Woodard, and Chris Smith plus tackles Stefan Charles, Mike Bennett, and Sheldon Day on the bench.
The Jaguars still have defensive end Jared Odrick and defensive tackles Sen’Derrick Marks and Roy Miller floating in free agent limbo.
