NFC North Contract Details: Pierre, Jackson, Lewis, Brooks, Jones
Here are reported details from recently signed contracts across the NFC North:
- James Pierre, CB (Vikings): Two years, $8.5MM. According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, Pierre’s previously reported guaranteed amount of $3.72MM is made up of his signing bonus ($2.5MM) and his 2026 base salary ($1.22MM). Also, originally reported to have a maximum value of $8.5MM, that amount is actually the base. Pierre has the ability to add up to $510K per season with a $30K per game active roster bonus.
- D’Marco Jackson, LB (Bears): Two years, $7.5MM. Per OvertheCap.com, Jackson’s new contract includes $3.63MM in guaranteed money comprised of a $1.88MM signing bonus and his base salary for the 2026 season ($1.75MM). His deal’s per game active roster bonus pays out only half of what Pierre’s does, but Jackson will be able to earn a 2027 roster bonus of $425K, if he’s still on the team by the fifth day of the new league year in 2027. The rest of the potential maximum value of the contract will be available in $1.5MM of incentives.
- Cam Lewis, CB (Bears): Two years, $6MM. Per Wilson, Lewis’ compensation could reach up to $7MM and includes $2.75MM in guaranteed money with a $1.5MM signing bonus and $1.25MM base salary in 2026. Lewis’ per game active roster bonus starts out at $10K in 2026 ($170K full season) and elevates to $20K in Year 2 ($340K full season). On the same timing as Jackson, Lewis would get a 2027 roster bonus of $250K. The $1MM of incentives Lewis can make are based on playing time and playoff qualification and include escalators for his potential second year.
- Chris Brooks, RB (Packers): Two years, $4.85MM. Wilson reports that Brooks’ deal to return to Green Bay includes a $650K signing bonus (the only guaranteed money). His base salary starts at $1.25MM and elevates to $1.41MM in Year 2, and he’ll be able to add $170K in each season with a $10K per game active roster bonus.
- Braxton Jones, LT (Bears): One year, $5MM. Originally reported at its maximum $10MM value, the base value of Jones deal is half that. Per OvertheCap.com, the contract includes $3MM in guaranteed money consisting of a $1.5MM signing bonus and $1.5MM of Jones’ 2026 base salary ($2MM). His per game active roster bonus is double that of Pierre’s, meaning it can net him an additional $1.02MM for a full season. The remaining potential value will have to be earned through incentives.
Bears, LB D’Marco Jackson Agree To Deal
The Bears will be without Tremaine Edmunds in 2026. Fellow linebacker D’Marco Jackson will remain in the fold, however.
Jackson has agreed to a two-year deal with Chicago, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. His new Bears contract is two years in length and it has a base value of $7.5MM. The pact can max out at $10.5MM, Rapoport adds. Today’s deal is now official.
Jackson will earn a solid raise after upping his stock last year in Chicago, which added him as a waiver claim in August. The Saints cut Jackson after the 2022 fifth-rounder from Appalachian State was unable to carve out a role in their defense. Jackson spent his rookie year on injured reserve and then played almost exclusively on special teams from 2023-24.
Edmunds and T.J. Edwards missed various periods with injuries last season, leaving Jackson to take on more defensive responsibilities. Across 17 games (four starts) and a career-high 261 defensive snaps, Jackson totaled 43 tackles, three passes defensed, a sack and an interception. He earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in Week 15. The 27-year-old logged nine tackles, a sack and a pick in a 31-3 blowout of the Browns.
Although Edmunds is now a Giant, Jackson will once again function as a reserve next season. The Bears will use Edwards and Devin Bush as their top two linebackers. They agreed to sign Bush, previously a Brown, to a three-year, $30MM deal on Monday.

Ridgeway and Wesley will count toward the Saints’ in-season injury-activation total, leaving six regular-season activations for the team to use. Kellen Moore confirmed those two received return designations while Young will head to season-ending IR due to ankle surgery, NFL.com’s Mike Garafolo tweets. Ridgeway, acquired via trade last year, will miss time due to a pectoral injury. It is not viewed as serious, Garafolo adds, noting the D-lineman should be back early in the season. Ridgeway and Wesley, a 2023 UDFA who has not seen any game action yet, must miss at least four games.
The same holds true for Hill and Moreau, who will be shifted from the active/PUP list to the reserve/PUP list. Hill suffered an ACL tear in Week 13 last season, while Moreau went down with a knee malady in Week 18.
Foskey could not hold onto a regular role under Moore, who will drop the 2023 second-round pick after his third NFL training camp. The Saints have used Foskey in 27 games, giving him no starts. In that time, the edge rusher has not recorded a sack. If Foskey goes unclaimed, the Saints will be hit with $3.16MM in dead money — spread over two years.
Edwards-Helaire follows Cam Akers off New Orleans’ roster. Both are vested veterans and do not need to clear waivers before joining another team’s active roster or practice squad. Teams cannot begin setting P-squads until waivers process at 11am CT Wednesday, but clubs are informing players they want to retain on their taxi squads already. Beanum is among the players the Saints want to retain on their P-squad, KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson tweets.

Demercado has taken a backseat to Florida State third-round rookie Trey Benson, but he has averaged 9.3 yards per carry on 24 carries this year. Palardy will take over punting duties with Gillikin landing on injured reserve.
Jackson signed with Bills in late July, and although he was among the team’s final roster cuts he was immediately retained via a practice squad deal. This elevation means Week 15 will mark his first time spent on the active roster this season. The 36-year-old has started all but 10 of his 203 NFL games, but last season was marred by suspensions which led to his Broncos release. Jackson could suit up for Buffalo down the stretch as a gameday elevation in a bid to rebuild his stock to a degree.
With the playoffs nearly out of reach and quarterback Joe Burrow dealing with a few ailments (wrist and knee), the Bengals don’t seem to be taking any chances. Jake Browning will continue serving as the primary backup, while Woodside’s promotion will allow him to act as the emergency backup.
Adams has seen his biggest NFL roles during his time in Pittsburgh. Though he hasn’t gotten the same number of starts as he had in 2022 and 2023, he’s continued the same level of production. After missing the last four games, he’ll be looking to return to the field as early as tomorrow.
