Today’s minor moves:
- The Titans announced that they’ve promoted running back David Fluellen from the practice squad and waived cornerback Cody Riggs. Fluellen’s signing could be an indication that Derrick Henry might miss multiple games with a calf injury, as head coach Mike Mularkey hinted at today. Henry tweaked his calf during warmups yesterday and didn’t play a single snap.
- The Saints claimed tight end John Phillips off waivers from the Chargers, according to Christopher Dabe of NOLA.com. Phillips has 103 games under his belt, and has mostly served as a blocker throughout his career. New Orleans also waived cornerback Brian Dixon and defensive end Chris McCain, tweets Nick Underhill of the Advocate.

- The Packers announced that they’ve promoted fullback Joe Kerridge to the active roster and waived safety Jermaine Whitehead.
- The Texans waived tackle Jeff Adams, the club announced today. Adams, 27, had spent portions of the past two seasons with Houston.

Minor NFL Transactions: 10/26/16

- The Texans are signing offensive tackle Jeff Adams, according to Mark Berman of FOX 26 (on Twitter). Adams has played in four games during what’s been a five-year career, suiting up for two with the Texans in each of the past two years. He started two games last season.
- The Cardinals promoted wide receiver Chris Hubert from the practice squad to the active roster today. Hubert will fill Jaron Brown‘s roster spot after he was put on IR with an ACL injury.

Adams started in both of his 2015 appearances.
- The Patriots will tender corner Justin Coleman, per Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald (Twitter link). Coleman made 21 tackles in 10 games (two starts) last season.

AFC Notes: Browns, Texans, Bengals, Jets
Browns cornerback K’Waun Williams told his team that he was experiencing headaches recently, and the second-year player was ultimately diagnosed with his third concussion in two years. As the NFL looks to fight off head injuries, Tom Reed of Cleveland.com says it’s a positive step that the youngster took the initiative to report the injury.
Many of his teammates stand by Williams’ decision, including cornerback Joe Haden:
“Yeah, definitely man, because that’s your head, and K’Waun, he’s a young dude,” Haden said. “He hasn’t been in the league that long, so if he’s messed up like that, he felt like he needed to go get himself checked out and make sure everything’s okay, then, I’m all in support for him just making sure he’s okay.”
Let’s take a look at some more notes from around the AFC…
- Texans offensive lineman Jeff Adams is out for the season with a torn patellar tendon in his right knee. Still, the 26-year-old isn’t discouraged, even though he may have missed out on a payday when he reached free agency following the season. “Yeah, that’s kind of how it works,” he told Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “You just focus on what you can control and that’s surgery and rehab…Yeah, you just put all the effort into the season and focus on things one day at a time. It’s how I’m trying to take it right now.”
- Following the extension signed by Bengals lineman Andrew Whitworth, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Cincinnati Enquirer believes (via Twitter) it’s still too early to tell whether Andre Smith will stick around. The former first-rounder will reach free agency next summer, and Dehner says he could be back for the right price.
- All signs are pointing to a divorce between the Jets and Muhammad Wilkerson following this season, and Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News believes the organization could use that extra cash to pursue a veteran quarterback.
Minor NFL Transactions: 9/21/15
Today’s minor signings, cuts, and other moves..
- The Buccaneers have cut Orie Lemon, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle (on Twitter).
- Washington has released cornerback David Amerson, according to John Keim of ESPN.com. Amerson was taken No. 51 overall in 2013 and was the next cornerback taken off the board after Jonathan Banks. Needless to say, Washington would probably like a redo on that pick. To take his place, Washington re-signed defensive end Frank Kearse, Wilson tweets.
- Texans tackle/guard Jeff Adams is done for the year with a knee injury, as John McClain of the Houston Chronicle tweets. After Adams went down on Sunday, it was widely reported that Adams was IR-bound.
- Vikings cornerback Jabari Price was reinstated to the 53-man roster after his violation of the league’s substance abuse policy, as Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press writes.
