Chargers To Release TE Will Dissly, OT Savion Washington
The Chargers are releasing tight end Will Dissly and waiving offensive tackle Savion Washington, per The Athletic’s Daniel Popper. The moves will save about $14.5MM in cap space with $1.5MM in dead money from the last proration of Dissly’s signing bonus.
Dissly, 29, signed in Los Angeles in 2024 on a three-year, $14MM deal. He appeared in 15 games (eight starts) in his first season with career-high receiving numbers of 50 catches and 481 yards. But those numbers dropped to career-lows in 2025 as he only played nine games due to injury.
Chargers rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden II exploded onto the scene in Dissly’s absence, putting up 49 receptions for 664 yards. He will enter the 2026 season as the starter, but the Chargers may be looking for a more experienced blocking TE2 who comes at a cheaper price than Dissly. New offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel also relied heavily on Julian Hill in Miami; the two could reunite in Los Angeles.
Predicting Dissly’s market in free agency is a challenge. He has a strong history as a blocker, and he is only one year removed from the best pass-catching year of his career. But there are several younger free agents like Cade Otton and Isaiah Likely with more receiving upside, as well as some younger blockers like Charlie Kolar and Jake Tonges who could do more through the air with a greater target share.
Washington, 23, signed a three-year deal with the Chargers last year as an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse. He missed all of the 2025 season due to an undisclosed injury.

Houston fans may be discouraged to see a few big names on injured lists, but all is not lost. Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 tells us that Mixon’s “medical outlook is positive” as the team plans to gradually increase his activity throughout camp. Likewise, Autry is expected to ease his way back into camp workouts, as well. Pierce, on the other hand, is expected to be ready to come off the list at the start of camp.
Per ESPN’s John Keim, Cosmi likely won’t see much time on the field in camp, but he appears to be hitting all the mile markers en route to being healthy for the start of the regular season. With McLaurin officially beginning his holdout yesterday, the team has made the corresponding roster move. McLaurin will rack up fines of $50K per each day missed, but if the team can come to terms on an extension, they can make sure those fines are nullified.

Minor NFL Transactions: 7/14/25
NFL teams are beginning to adjust their rosters as players report for training camp. Here are the latest minor moves from around the league:
Carolina Panthers
- Waived (with injury settlement): WR Moose Muhammad
Las Vegas Raiders
- Waived: QB Carter Bradley
Los Angeles Chargers
- Placed on active/PUP: S Elijah Molden, WR Mike Williams, WR Jaylen Johnson, LB Del’Shawn Phillips, OT Savion Washington
Molden ended the 2024 season on injured reserve after suffering a broken fibula in Week 17. He re-signed with the Chargers this offseason and was expected to be ready for training camp after offseason surgery. However, his placement on the PUP list indicates that he needs more time before returning to the field. The reason for the other PUP placements is unknown, as teams are not required to report injuries during the offseason. The five Chargers placed on the PUP list can be activated at any time.
Chargers Announce 18 UDFA Signings
After adding nine players throughout this weekend’s draft, the Chargers still had plenty of room for rookie additions. Los Angeles announced their 18-man undrafted free agent signing class shortly after the event closed, disclosing these players as signees:
- TeRah Edwards, DT (Illinois)
- Josh Fuga, DT (Virginia Tech)
- Luke Grimm, WR (Kansas)
- Kylan Guidry, OLB (Western Kentucky)
- Nash Jones, G (Texas State)
- Jaylen Jones, S (Virginia Tech)
- Josh Kaltenberger, C (Maryland)
- Stevo Klotz, TE (Iowa State)
- Jordan Oladokun, CB (Bowling Green State)
- Myles Purchase, CB (Iowa State)
- Garmon Randolph, OLB (Baylor)
- Nikko Reed, CB (Oregon)
- Eric Rogers, CB (Rutgers)
- Raheim Sanders, RB (South Carolina)
- Corey Stewart, T (Purdue)
- DJ Uiagalelei, QB (Florida State)
- Savion Washington, T (Syracuse)
- Marlowe Wax, LB (Syracuse)
After slightly favoring offense (five players to four on defense) during the draft, Los Angeles evens things out by favoring the defense (10:8) in the undrafted class, giving them 13 offensive rookies and 14 defensive rookies in 2025.
Once heralded as the quarterback of the future set to take over the Clemson program after Trevor Lawrence, Uiagalelei ends up in Los Angeles after stops with Oregon State and the Seminoles. Sanders was expected to be a late-Day 3 selection. Sanders rushed for 1,443 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2022 for Arkansas before injuries limited him in 2023. He transferred to South Carolina and tallied 881 yards and 11 scores on the ground, adding 316 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air.
The team loaded up on flyers in the secondary this year. After drafting safeties with each of their last two picks, the Chargers added one more in free agency and signed four undrafted cornerbacks. Reed is maybe the most capable of the group. One of Deion Sanders‘ cast-outs at Colorado, Reed transferred to Oregon for two strong years, collecting 26 passes defensed and five interceptions in his four years of college. Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, Reed’s UDFA contract includes $100K of base salary guaranteed plus a $15K signing bonus.
