Nichols began the year on the reserve/PUP list. The eight-year veteran has been hampered by injuries since signing with the Cardinals in 2024. After playing just six games last year, Nichols’ 2025 campaign will end after only four appearances.
Bryant makes his return to the Texans’ offense to replenish a thinned out tight ends group, while in Seattle, the Seahawks place their second-round rookie tight end, Arroyo, on injured reserve with a knee injury.
In Buffalo, this will be Jackson’s third and final standard gameday practice squad elevation. If the team wants to see him in another game this season, they’ll need to sign him to the 53-man roster. The same is true for Strong in Green Bay, Jackson and Mafi in Las Vegas, Smyth in New Orleans, Sam in Philadelphia, and Jones in Seattle.
On the flip side of that, in Denver, Turner has been signed to the 53-man roster after running out of elevations last week.
Thomas suffered a shoulder injury in Week 14 and it will end his season. The third-round rookie confirmed on social media today he is set to undergo surgery in the near future. Thomas made five starts in 2025, totaling 22 tackles and seven pass deflections.

As injured reserve activations start to dominate the headlines, a couple teams are making minor additions off their injured lists. In Homer, the Bears are getting a veteran special teamer and some running back depth. Monk adds depth to Green Bay’s offensive line. And Weston will do the same for a linebacking corps in New York that has seen rookie fifth-round pick Francisco Mauigoa starting in place of an injured Quincy Williams.
Ford in Chicago, Sewell in New Orleans, and Jacobs in Tennessee are all being called up as standard gameday practice squad elevations for the third time this year. In order to appear in any more games after this weekend, their respective teams will need to sign them to the 53-man roster.
Minor NFL Transactions: 10/15/25
Here are today’s midweek minor moves:
Arizona Cardinals
- Signed from practice squad: TE Josiah Deguara
Detroit Lions
- Signed off Chiefs’ practice squad: S Jammie Robinson
Indianapolis Colts
- Released (with injury settlement): LB Joe Bachie
New York Giants
- Designated to return from reserve/PUP: OLB Victor Dimukeje
As injuries and suspensions thin out the Lions’ secondary, Detroit is bringing in Robinson, who signed to the Chiefs’ taxi squad in the days leading up to the regular season and has yet to see any gametime this year.
With Arizona losing tight end Travis Vokolek for the rest of the season with a neck injury, Deguara gets the call to fill out the room off the practice squad.
Dimukeje has been working his way back from a torn pectoral muscle suffered in offseason workouts back in May, shortly after joining the team. He’ll have 21 days to get activated off the PUP list and debut in New York.

Waived/injured:

Placed on reserve/PUP list:

- RB Eric Gray
Placed on IR (return designation):
Two years after winning a starting job as a rookie (and forcing Adoree’ Jackson into a brief slot CB sojourn), Hawkins is off the Giants’ roster. He joins Dulcich as notable players waived today. Dulcich came over via waivers from the Broncos midway through last season. The Giants have been light at tight end since Darren Waller‘s retirement, but they now have starter Theo Johnson back after a season-ending injury. Daniel Bellinger, Chris Manhertz and seventh-round rookie Thomas Fidone made the team over Dulcich.
Forsythe came over from the Seahawks on a one-year, $1.34MM deal, doing so after having started 13 games between the 2023 and ’24 seasons. The Giants gave more money (two years, $12MM) to James Hudson to be their swing tackle, while fifth-round rookie Marcus Mbow has been working at tackle as well. Evan Neal is also an option at tackle, though the demoted RT has been working at guard for months.
Ezeudu will count toward the Giants’ in-season injury activation total, reducing that number from eight to seven. The former third-round pick has been out for a few weeks after being carted off the practice field early in camp. The Giants view Ezeudu as likely to return, however. This is the North Carolina product’s contract year.
Teams can officially begin setting their 16-man practice squads starting at 11am CT Wednesday. The Giants have a few candidates from this bunch to stay, with a decent percentage of the above contingent under consideration to stay. Kabas is one, per The Athletic’s Dan Duggan, who adds Miller is another. Paige is viewed as a candidate for New York’s P-squad as well, per KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson. Ward is a vested veteran and can determine his future earlier, but Wilson adds the reserve RB is a taxi squad candidate.

There was a scary moment at 49ers practice earlier this week, as 49ers defensive lineman Tarron Jackson was carted off the field on a stretcher after suffering a neck injury. Fortunately, the player has since been released from the hospital (per Vic Tafur of The Athletic), but his placement on IR means he won’t suit up during the upcoming campaign. A former Eagles draft pick, Jackson got into three games with the Panthers in 2024 before joining the 49ers practice squad late in the season.

Giants OLB Victor Dimukeje Suffers Torn Pec
Giants outside linebacker Victor Dimukeje sustained a torn pectoral during offseason workouts with the team, per ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.
The 2021 sixth-rounder will have to spend the summer rehabbing the injury, though he could be healthy by the start of the regular season. Dimukeje recorded 4.0 sacks in 2023 for the Cardinals, but went sack-less in his other three seasons in Arizona. He signed a one-year, $1.34MM contract with the Giants this offseason that contains just under $170k in guaranteed money.
Missing time during training camp will negatively impact Dimukeje’s chances of making the 53-man roster. The Giants have three potential starting edge rushers in Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and No. 3 pick Abdul Carter, but their depth is questionable. Free agent signing Chauncey Golston broke out with 5.5 sacks last year but has little experience playing as a 3-4 outside linebacker as required in Shane Bowen‘s defense. The ex-Cowboy profiles more as a designated pass-rusher, which would leave Dimukeje and Tomon Fox competing for the OLB4 roster spot. Both have been unproductive in their careers thus far.
The Giants also signed undrafted rookie Trace Ford, an athletic edge-rusher out of Oklahoma who recorded 7.5 sacks in two college seasons before a 2021 injury and just 2.5 since. He tested well at his pro day and could make his case for a roster spot while Dimukeje is recovering.
Minor NFL Transactions: 3/18/25
Tuesday’s minor transactions:
Chicago Bears

Detroit Lions

New York Giants
- Signed: OLB Victor Dimukeje
Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Clapp returns to the Big Easy after three seasons away from the team. Clapp has enjoyed more opportunities to start with the Chargers and Bills over the past three years after only starting seven of 34 game appearances in New Orleans. He’ll likely serve as a reliable backup to Erik McCoy who has missed 19 games in the last four seasons, including 10 last year.
