With Colts cornerback Kenny Moore presumed to potentially miss a few weeks, the recent signee, Hilton, will get his opportunity to supplement the team’s secondary. He may be able to earn an official spot on the 53-man roster with an impactful game. Similarly, Cropper may be able to get into his first NFL game since going undrafted in 2023 as he gets elevated to a receiving corps that will sorely miss CeeDee Lamb.
Morris is getting called up for the third time for Jacksonville. If the Jaguars intend for him to appear in another game after this week, they’ll need to sign him to the 53-man roster.
Minor NFL Transactions: 9/26/25
Here are today’s only minor moves:
Houston Texans
- Placed on IR: FB Jakob Johnson
Tennessee Titans
- Signed from practice squad: T Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson
- Placed on IR: RB Kalel Mullings
Johnson’s time on the active roster was short-lived. After getting called up as a standard gameday practice squad elevation in the first two weeks of the season, Johnson was officially signed to the 53-man roster this past weekend. A hamstring injury will remove him from the active roster as he’ll require at least four weeks to recover.
It’s an ankle injury that will land the Titans’ sixth-round pick on injured reserve. Though they used the open roster spot on the offensive line, Turron Davenport of ESPN claims one of their two gameday practice squad elevations will be used to bring up taxi squad rusher Jordan Mims, who was also called up in Week 2.
As a struggling offensive line in Tennessee continues to deal with injury, Crenshaw-Dickson finds his way back to the 53-man roster. The undrafted rookie out of Florida — after four years at San Diego State — started games at both tackle spots throughout college. The majority of his starts came on the right side of the line, though, so his addition to the active roster provides some depth at the right tackle spot as JC Latham is set to miss another game with his hip injury.

With one quarterback on the reserve/non-football injury list and starter Brock Purdy inactive, Martinez comes up with the potential to appear in his first ever NFL game, though Niners fans hope his presence will not be necessary.
Bell will be active for tomorrow’s game as the Seahawks work to replace second-round rookie Nick Emmanwori in the secondary. Emmanwori has been ruled out with an ankle injury. Similarly, Wallow will be part of the Broncos’ efforts to fill in for injured linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who has been ruled out for the second week in a row.

Titans RB Tyjae Spears Lands On IR As Team Gets To 53
Year 2 under Brian Callahan and Year 1 under Mike Borgonzi can now get underway as the Titans made the following transactions to get their initial roster down to 53 players:
Released:
- C Brenden Jaimes
- LB Blake Lynch
- CB Amani Oruwariye
- WR James Proche
- QB Trevor Siemian
- DE Carlos Watkins
Waived:
- LB Brian Asamoah
- S Kendell Brooks
- TE Drake Dabney
- T Jaelyn Duncan
- OLB Ali Gaye
- DT Cam Horsley
- RB Jermar Jefferson
- WR Mason Kinsey
- RB Jordan Mims
- TE Thomas Odukoya
- DT Isaiah Raikes
- WR Xavier Restrepo
- OL Andrew Rupcich
- TE Josh Whyle
Placed on IR (designated for return):
- RB Tyjae Spears
As expected, the team’s RB2 will open the year on injured reserve. Spears suffered a high ankle sprain two weeks ago, and the injury will now keep him from playing in the first four weeks of the season.
The absence hurts a run offense that would’ve featured Tony Pollard with a good dose of Spears, as well. Rookie quarterbacks often benefit from strong rushing attacks, so Pollard will have a bit more pressure on his shoulders to help the offense succeed. There was some thought that the team may hold on to an extra running back if Spears went on IR, but both Jefferson and Mims head to waivers with hopes of coming back to the practice squad.
With Siemian getting cut, Brandon Allen, once again, is the last man standing as the primary backup to Cam Ward. With only two passers making it on the active roster, Siemien stands a strong chance at landing on the p-squad, per beat writer Paul Kuharsky.
Siemien joins six other vested veterans in becoming free agents. Jaimes, Oruwariye, Proche, and Watkins all signed veteran minimum deals in an effort to make the team but will now head back to free agency. Proche, in particular, was a close cut to make the team. Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Tennessee could try to bring him back on the practice squad, but he’s just as likely to get a contract offer to play elsewhere.
Lastly, Ward’s favorite target last year in Coral Gables, Restrepo, didn’t join him on the initial 53-man roster. Like those mentioned above, Restrepo is another candidate to be retained on the practice squad, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Titans Sign RB Jordan Mims, Waive RB Tyrion Davis-Price
3:20pm: The Mims signing is now official. In a corresponding move, Davis-Price was waived, meaning he will not take part in the looming training camp competition. Provided Davis-Price clears waivers, he will be free to sign with a new team.
10:34am: Jordan Mims has landed a deal in time for training camp. The third-year running back has agreed to a pact with the Titans, Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz reports.
This will be a two-year contract, Schultz adds. Mims entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Bills, but he was among the team’s 2023 roster cuts. Immediately after being released, Mims landed on the Saints’ practice squad and he remained in the organization through the end of the past campaign.
As a rookie, the 26-year-old made a pair of appearances but played only on special teams. Mims’ first offensive touches came about in 2024, and he logged 105 snaps across 11 contests. 20 carries and 12 receptions did not produce any touchdowns, but Mims notched 141 scrimmage yards along the way.
That production helped land Mims a workout with the Browns in June, but no deal materialized. The Fresno State product will instead spend the summer in Tennessee looking to carve out a spot in the backfield. The Titans entered Thursday with more than $30MM in cap space, so this contract will not alter any other free agent plans which are in place.
Tony Pollard recorded his third consecutive 1,000-yard campaign in 2024, and he remains in position to lead the way at the running back spot for Tennessee this season. Tyjae Spears will again operate as a pass-catching backup, while three others backs (Kalel Mullings, Julius Chestnut and Tyrion Davis-Price) are set to compete for a roster spot during training camp. Mims will join that group when players report on July 22.
AFC Workouts: Snead, Texans, Mims
Willie Snead hasn’t seen much success in the NFL since his departure from Baltimore following the 2020 season. The 32-year-old veteran receiver bounced around over the next two years, splitting his 2021 campaign between the Raiders and Panthers before spending two seasons in San Francisco. After an injury placed him on the Dolphins’ injured reserve in last year’s preseason, resulting in him getting cut and sitting out the entire season, Snead is attempting a comeback with a recent tryout with the Chargers.
Los Angeles attempted to improve their receiving corps this offseason through the draft with additions like Ole Miss’ Tre Harris in the second round and Auburn’s KeAndre Lambert-Smith in the fifth. Their top returning wideouts from last year include Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, and Derius Davis, and an aging Mike Williams has returned after a year away. The team hosted Snead for a veteran tryout earlier this week, per ESPN’s Kris Rhim.
Adding Snead would provide some veteran depth to the group. Though he had some resurgent seasons catching balls from Lamar Jackson in Baltimore, he was never able to reach the heights of his surprising first two campaigns in New Orleans. Since leaving the Ravens, his production has been minimal, so it will likely take a stellar tryout to convince the next team to sign him.
Here are a few more workout updates from around the AFC:
- The Texans continue to work out cornerbacks as the offseason carries on. After the team hosted former Raiders first-round pick Damon Arnette on Monday, Houston welcomed Duke Shelley and Keenan Isaac in the days after, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2. Shelley, a six-year veteran, has 11 starts in his career over time with the Bears and Vikings. The last two years, though, have seen him relegated to specials teams with the Rams and the practice squad of the Giants. Isaac, a former undrafted signee for Tampa Bay in 2023, spent this past United Football League season with Arnette on the Houston Roughnecks.
- Lastly, the Browns worked out former Saints running back Jordan Mims, per Wilson. With a deep, young group of rushers already on the roster, Mims potential signing would add some camp depth with the possibility of him contributing on special teams as a returner.

Hoyland converted 79.3% of his field goal attempts for the Wyoming Cowboys across the last five years. He was ultra-consistent on extra points with 147 makes on 148 tries. Hoyland will compete with sixth-round pick Tyler Loop for the Ravens’ kicking job after the team released Justin Tucker.
Sheffield brings some much-needed experience to the Dolphins’ cornerback room, though he hasn’t started since 2020. He could provide crucial veteran depth in Miami, especially if Jalen Ramsey is traded.
Elgersma was the starting quarterback at Wilfried Laurier University in Ontario, Canada, for the last three years. In 2024, he won the Hec Crighton Trophy – the Canadian equivalent to the Heisman – and earned an invitation to the Senior Bowl, the first-ever for a Canadian QB. Elgersma was drafted in the second round of the 2025 CFL Draft by the Winnepeg Blue Bombers, but a successful tryout with the Packers will give him a chance at making an NFL roster.
