The veteran is coming off one of the most productive seasons of his career in 2024, when he compiled 572 yards from scrimmage in 16 games (three starts) with the Raiders. The 49ers filled his spot on the roster by signing veteran Jeff Wilson.
Equanimeous St. Brown will also have a chance to play in 2025, as the WR was previously ruled out with a foot injury. The veteran wideout only has five catches over the past two seasons.

The former third-round pick spent three years in Minnesota, collecting 30 tackles in 46 games. 802 of his 990 snaps came on special teams. He’ll be taking the spot formerly held by Reese, who started five games for the Titans over the previous two seasons.

In other Chiefs-related news, Niang will get a new opportunity in Washington for training camp. A former third-round pick in Kansas City, Niang was tried at starter for a bit before ultimately getting demoted to the practice squad last year. The Chiefs released him from the p-squad in November, and he’s been a free agent ever since.

Woods joins the Falcons’ practice squad after a workout last week that also included veterans Kwon Alexander and Rashaan Evans.
The Browns are adding Freeman after the seven-year veteran was released by the Cowboys before the regular season. Freeman could potentially pitch in as the team keeps working without Nick Chubb.
Yeast becomes the next former-Rams defensive back to join the Panthers. Current Carolina defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero used to serve as the secondary coach in Los Angeles, and Yeast joins Jordan Fuller, Nick Scott, and Troy Hill as former students of Evero to sign a deal with the Panthers.
Chosen’s time off the Dolphins’ practice squad could be a short one. Chosen was called up as a standard gameday elevation twice in the first two weeks of the season, reaching his limit for the year. If the team re-signs him to a new practice squad contract, his count should start over.
Reagor saw 11 games and a start last year for New England, catching seven passes for 138 yards as a deep threat. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the Patriots will be giving him similar opportunities this year after this release.
Pierre played a big part in the Steelers’ secondary in 2021 and 2022, starting six games and logging an interception in each season. His role was extremely reduced last year with the arrivals of Joey Porter Jr.. and Patrick Peterson, but his experience could be crucial in a position room that only rosters five cornerbacks as Cameron Sutton remains on suspension.

Placed on IR/designated for return:

Placed on reserve/non-football illness list:
- DL Dylan Horton
Placed on reserve/suspended list:
- DL Denico Autry (story)
Keenum was headed into the second season of a two-year deal with his original NFL team, but a major injury will sidetrack the veteran arm. A foot injury will sideline the 36-year-old quarterback, KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson tweets. Keenum is expected to be down for three or four months, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini adds. Houston still has Davis Mills, who is in a contract year, as its top backup behind C.J. Stroud.
A calf injury will shut down Harris for the time being, Wilson adds. The Texans used both their allotted IR-return moves. The team used the 2022 third-round pick as a 12-game starter last season. Harris has played at least 71% of the Texans’ defensive snaps in both of his seasons, explaining his being prioritized via the NFL’s IR rule tweak. Despite being a 2022 UDFA, Hinish has been a key rotational player in Houston in each of his two pro seasons.
Horton is in remission from his bout with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The second-year player completed his final treatment this spring but did not practice with the team during training camp. The Texans’ run of WR cuts leaves 2022 second-rounder John Metchie, who missed his rookie season after a leukemia diagnosis, and Robert Woods on the roster behind starters Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs. Cutting Jordan, a sixth-round pick from Louisville, leaves Dameon Pierce, Dare Ogunbowale and Cam Akers rostered behind Joe Mixon.
Texans Add Six UDFAs To Rookie Class
The Texans made a quick turnaround in 2023 thanks to the contributions of a young core. They’ll try to keep improving with this year’s rookie class, which will consist of the team’s nine-man draft class and these six undrafted free agent signees:
- Tarique Barnes, LB (Illinois)
- British Brooks, RB (North Carolina)
- Jadon Janke, WR (South Dakota State)
- Jaxon Janke, WR (South Dakota State)
- Pheldarius Payne, DE (Virginia Tech)
- Max Tooley, LB (BYU)
Tooley, Barnes, and Payne are all receiving some substantial guarantees as undrafted players, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2. Tooley is being guaranteed $125K consisting of $100K of his base salary and a $25K signing bonus. Barnes is being guaranteed $95K consisting of $85K of his base salary and a $10K signing bonus. And Payne is being guaranteed $90K consisting of $75K of his base salary and a $15K signing bonus.
Houston also adds the Janke twins out of South Dakota State. Jaxon was the star of the two after eclipsing the 1,000-yard receiving mark in 2021 and leading the Jackrabbits in receiving for three straight years en route to back-to-back FCS national championships, but Jadon was no slouch in comparison, leading the Jackrabbits in receiving last year. Over 71 games played, Jaxon accumulated 244 catches for 3,677 yards and 29 touchdowns while mostly playing on the outside. In 69 games, Jadon tallied 170 catches for 2,800 yards and 30 touchdowns while splitting time between the slot and outside. Both returned both punt and kicks, with Jaxon mainly doing punt returns and Jadon focused more on kickoff returns. It will be interesting to see if either twin can earn a role in a talented Texans depth chart.
