Anthony Pittman is back in Detroit after the Lions snagged the linebacker off the Jaguars’ practice squad. Pittman was once a special teams mainstay for the Lions, appearing in every game for the organization between 2021 and 2023. Over that time, he was limited to 134 defensive snaps (vs. 1,099 ST snaps), and he’ll likely see a similar role during his current stint with the squad.

Colton Dowell will return to practice this week after being designated for return from the PUP list. The wideout suffered a torn ACL last December, and coach Brian Callahan told reporters that they wanted to give a look at the player after he worked so hard during rehab (via the team’s website). A 2023 seventh-round pick, Dowell got into 10 games as a rookie.

Demercado has taken a backseat to Florida State third-round rookie Trey Benson, but he has averaged 9.3 yards per carry on 24 carries this year. Palardy will take over punting duties with Gillikin landing on injured reserve.

Jackson signed with Bills in late July, and although he was among the team’s final roster cuts he was immediately retained via a practice squad deal. This elevation means Week 15 will mark his first time spent on the active roster this season. The 36-year-old has started all but 10 of his 203 NFL games, but last season was marred by suspensions which led to his Broncos release. Jackson could suit up for Buffalo down the stretch as a gameday elevation in a bid to rebuild his stock to a degree.

With the playoffs nearly out of reach and quarterback Joe Burrow dealing with a few ailments (wrist and knee), the Bengals don’t seem to be taking any chances. Jake Browning will continue serving as the primary backup, while Woodside’s promotion will allow him to act as the emergency backup.

Adams has seen his biggest NFL roles during his time in Pittsburgh. Though he hasn’t gotten the same number of starts as he had in 2022 and 2023, he’s continued the same level of production. After missing the last four games, he’ll be looking to return to the field as early as tomorrow.

Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins has made just 64.0% of his field goal attempts this season, which includes two misses from inside 40 yards. Patterson kicked for Cleveland when Hopkins was injured at the end of last season, and his addition to the practice squad indicates that head coach Kevin Stefanski is considering a similar change this year.

The Titans signed Narveson as insurance for starter Nick Folk, who is dealing with an injury, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Narveson began the season as the Packers’ kicker, but after missing five of his 12 field goal attempts, all of which came inside of 50 yards.

The Panthers officially placed Brooks on injured reserve after he re-tore his right ACL on Sunday against the Eagles. The second-round pick spent most of his rookie season on the Physically Unable to Perform list after his initial ACL tear last November. He only managed 12 touches for 45 yards in his first three NFL appearances before re-injuring his knee, which will require another lengthy rehab process and puts his availability for the start of the 2025 season in doubt.

Titans Activate Chidobe Awuzie, Place Logan Bruss On IR

Chidobe Awuzie is set to see his first game action since September. The veteran corner was activated from injured reserve on Saturday, per a Titans announcement.

Awuzie went down with a groin injury in Week 3, and he was quickly moved to IR. He has remained out of the picture since then, but by returning to practice last week it was clear he would soon be an option to be activated. Plenty of time still remained on Awuzie’s 21-day window to be brought back into the fold, but today’s news means he will be available for Tennessee’s Week 14 matchup.

The 29-year-old had a three-year run with the Bengals which included 32 starts and 37 appearances. Fully recovered from his 2022 ACL tear, Awuzie took a free agent deal with the Titans this offseason which allowed him to continue working under former Cincinnati OC Brian Callahan. Given the nature of that three-year, $36MM pact, expectations were high for the former second-rounder but his injury interrupted his debut Tennessee season. Awuzie should return to the starting role he held at the start of the campaign now that he is healthy.

The Titans are out of playoff contention, but they rank No. 1 in the NFL against the pass and No. 2 in total defense this season. Getting Awuzie back will provide a boost to the team’s secondary (which is without L’Jarius Sneed) down the stretch and allow him to see game action ahead of 2025. Tennessee has six IR activations remaining on the year.

In a corresponding move, offensive lineman Logan Bruss has been moved to injured reserve. The former third-rounder was claimed off waivers from the Rams last month, and he has made three appearances with Tennessee to date. This move guarantees at least a four-game absence, however, meaning Bruss will not be eligible to return until the final week of the regular season.

Arizona Cardinals

  • Designated to return from injured reserve: CB Elijah Jones

Detroit Lions

Green Bay Packers

  • Elevated to the active roster from the practice squad: CB Kalen King

Houston Texans

Pittsburgh Steelers

Seattle Seahawks

The Lions signed Adams to their practice squad on Sunday after a slew of injuries on Thanksgiving. The onetime All-Pro played 20 snaps across three games for the Titans this year before he landed on the Non-Football injury list and requested his release. Though he’s still listed as a defensive back, Adams is likely to play in the box after Malcolm Rodriguez joined three other Lions linebacker on injured reserve.

Spencer Shrader‘s hamstring injury will knock him out for the next four weeks, and with Harrison Butker eventually set to return, the fill-in kicker’s stint with the Chiefs has likely come to an end. Temporarily, the team will turn to their third kicker in Matthew Wright. The veteran filled in for Shrader this past weekend, connecting on four of his five field goal tries.

Former Dolphins second-round pick Cam Smith landed on IR today, likely ending his disappointing sophomore campaign. The cornerback did get more run in 2024 vs. his rookie season, but he was still limited to only 16 tackles in six games thanks to a pair of IR stints. This time, it’s a shoulder issue that will put the South Carolina product on the shelf.

Saints safety Roderic Teamer was hit with a three-game ban today for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston. Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.football notes that Teamer’s unpaid ban is “the conclusion of his DUI arrest” in 2023 (when he was with the Raiders). Teamer was limited to only a pair of appearances this season, with all of his snaps coming on special teams.

Titans lineman Jaelyn Duncan returned to practice today after missing the past six games while nursing a hamstring injury. The former sixth-round pick could actually see a significant role upon his return, with Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com noting that the second-year player could get a look at right tackle once he’s fully healthy.

Titans WR Treylon Burks Underwent ACL Surgery, Done For Season

The knee injury that landed Treylon Burks on IR back in October will ultimately end his season. The Titans wideout won’t be returning to the field in 2024 after undergoing ACL surgery, coach Brian Callahan told reporters (via Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com).

Burks suffered his knee injury during an October practice, and it sounds like there was some initial uncertainty surrounding the severity of the issue. Callahan admitted that Burks was initially diagnosed with a “loose ACL,” but it was recently determined that the receiver would indeed have to go under the knife. ACL surgery would put Burks’ availability in doubt for the start of the 2025 campaign, and it could ultimately spell the end of his tenure in Tennessee.

The former 18th-overall pick hasn’t lived up to his draft billing with the Titans. He was limited to only 22 games between his first two seasons in the league, combining for 730 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown. 2024 was set to be a crucial season for Burks, but he barely saw a role through the first five games of the season. The wideout got into about half of his offense’s snaps, collecting 35 yards from scrimmage on six touches.

The organization will have to make a decision on the player’s fifth-year option in a few months. Considering the $15.28MM commitment, it seems like Burks will enter lame-duck status in 2025. The wideout could end up sticking around as an end-of-the-depth-chart option, but he’d once again have a tough time cracking the starting lineup.

Burks’ injury basically coincided with the DeAndre Hopkins trade, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has since taken advantage of his increased snaps; the former UDFA has hauled in eight touchdowns over the past eight weeks. With Calvin Ridley attached to a sizable contract, the Titans seem to have their top-two spots on the depth chart locked in for the 2025 campaign.

Sincere McCormick has seen a larger role in recent weeks as a practice squad elevation, and now the running back will be secured to the Raiders active roster. After spending the past few years hanging around the organization, the former UDFA finally made his NFL debut earlier this season. With the Raiders dealing with a depleted RB room in recent weeks, McCormick has seen an uptick in snaps, culminating in him collecting 65 yards from scrimmage on Black Friday.

Julius Wood has been hit with a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. The safety will now be sidelined for the rest of the 2024 campaign and one game in 2025. The undrafted rookie has appeared in nine games this season, with the majority of his snaps coming on special teams.
